In another part of the city, a completely different morning had begun.
Ram woke up exactly at 5:00 AM. No alarms were needed; discipline had become his habit. He sat up, running his hand through his hair, his face calm and composed. Within minutes, he was in his workout clothes and hitting the gym.
It was his daily routine.
Standing six feet tall, sweat trickled down his muscular body, highlighting his perfect abs. His movements were controlled and focused.
Suddenly, his phone rang, disturbing his concentration. He answered the call.
He lifted the call.
"Hello Mr DCP Ramachandra gaaru.." said the dramatic voice from other side.
"Entraa... edhuku phone chesaav poddhu poddhune?" I said cursing myself for picking up.
(What man... why did you call this early in the morning?)
"Don't be rude my sweetu... am your only friend. Morning has just started now, full day is ahead!"
"Sravan, my buddy... if you don't tell me the purpose of your call—you know about me," I said, my voice dropping into a threatening note.

Sravan Kumar is his childhood friend. They both wanted to be police officers—it was their dream, and they made it come true. They always had each other's back, but Sravan was much more jovial and dramatic. They went to the same academy for training, but their postings were in different places: Ram in Bengaluru and Sravan right here in Hyderabad.

"Don't go hyper, ma. You better learn how to speak sweetly. Naturally, your normal tone is enough to scare us—just think about my Vadhina (sister-in-law). How will she cope with you?" Sravan teased.
"And who is your Vadhina?"
"Ofcourse, your Wife chandu!"
"Shut up. Come to the matter."
"Okay, on the serious note. We have emergency meeting with IG and DIG post lunch."
"Okay, i'll be there, bye." I cut the call.

After his workout, he stood in front of the mirror. Strong physique. Sharp features. A commanding presence. He got ready in a simple maroon shirt and beige trousers. Clean, elegant, and effortless.
