I looked at Silas as we sat in the car. We haven't spoken in two weeks because I was convinced he didn't love me. Kahlil got me out the house to come and talk to him.

Silas - you ready to go in to the appointment

We got out the car.

I held Evie's hand as we watched the nurse put the ultrasound jelly on Evie's belly.
Evie - this is cold.
Nurse - I should've warned you.
Evie - it's fine
I looked at the screen.
Evie - well there's your big head Si.
The nurse smiled.
Nurse - This baby is a girl
Evie - baby are you okay?
Silas - a girl.
I sat there in shock.
Thank god. Taco is a girl.

We went back to my house and saw my dad sitting on the couch.
Michael - Silas , what you smiling for?
Silas - we are having a girl
My dad got up and hugged Silas, then me. I smiled.
Michael - Evie how do you feel?
Evie - I already have names picked out. I wanted a boy but I knew I was having a girl.
Silas - I wanted a girl anyway.
Evie - you were very vocal about wanting a daughter.
Michael - well at least y'all are happy and talking again.

Silas walked in his room and sat down next to me.
Silas - what names do you have picked out?
Evie - Salem, Solana, Sakura, Giana,Guinevere, and Geneva.
Silas - like your mom's name.
Evie - yeah.
Silas - I like Salem. Her name should be Salem Geneva. If you don't like it, we can always change it.
Evie - it's perfect. That's gonna be Taco's name.
Silas - baby girl kick if you like your name
Evie - Silas
Taco kicked.
Silas - baby girl has spoken. I gotta get her room ready.

Sikas - no the hell she isn't.

Silas - she didn't even come to the funeral and when she came back here a few months back she only came for my dads safe. Has had accounts set up for me and SyRai , we can access them when we're 18. I haven't looked in mine and I planned to give the money to Sy'Rai but I might hold onto it for Salem

My phone rang , it was Khalil
I answered it.
Evie - hey booger
Kahlil - hey Peanut, congrats on the baby.
Silas - thank you
Evie - what's up?
Kahlil - I'll be heading home in a few days to see family. You remember my cousin Rashad.
Evie - yeah, I thought he was so fine
Silas looked at me
Evie - shut up , don't say nothing
Silas - I wasn't going to
Khalil - he got shot

Silas hung up the phone
Silas - good night Emmy.
He rubbed my belly and went to sleep.
