I held Salem as we sat outside , looking at Evie's mom's grave. I grabbed Evie's hand and she snatched it away.

I saw Byron out the corner of my eye.

Silas - babe get Emmy real quick.

She looked up.

Evie - baby don't go over there.

I handed her Salem and got up

Evie - dad get him

Michael - let him go.

Michael and Prescott followed behind me.

Michael - Byron what did I tell you?

Byron - Geneva was my sister. I'm allowed to be here

Prescott - you violated her daughter and still expect to be treated as if it didn't happen .

Byron - it didn't

Silas - so you're also a liar.

Byron - you weren't there

Silas - But I can tell by the way she interacts with you that she's uncomfortable.

I went through something similar to Evie when I was about 5 or 6. It was one of my moms friends, and my mom cut her off immediately after I told her. Probably the only good thing she's ever done for me .

Michael - Byron just leave

Byron - I'm not going anyway

Celine - I know y'all aren't about to fight.

Silas - I sure am. Get him out of here now.

She walked off with Byron.

I went back to my seat and sat down.

Silas - problem solved babe

Salem reached for me.

I grabbed her.

After the ceremony , everybody left and it was just me and Evie.

Silas - you okay?

She hugged me , not saying a word. I kissed her forehead

Evie - I'm ready to go

We left.

Evie put Salem down for a nap and walked over to me.

Evie - can you unzip me?

She turned her back to me.  I unzipped her pulling her waist to me.

Evie - I know what type of time you're on.

I kissed her back.

Silas - later?

Evie - yes later

Silas - okay fine

She kissed me and grabbed her suitcase.

I went down the hall to see Khalil sitting on the couch.

Khalil - Evie

He hugged me.

Silas - that's enough

Khalil - you still dating his clingy ass

Evie - Khalil shut up

He looked at Salem.

Khalil - hey Emmy

He reached for her but she screamed for Silas.

Evie - Kahlil I appreciate you coming over here but what do you want?

Khalil  - to see you.

Silas - you saw her. Goodbye

Khalil - I'm getting really sick of you

Silas - do something about it then.

Evie - no. Baby go lay down. Khalil we'll catch up later.

Silas walked out.

Khalil - You wanna smoke later

Silas - GET THE FUCK OUT NOW.

Evie - Khalil I haven't even been sober for one year yet and I'm so close to it , why in the fuck would I sabotage myself like that

Khalil - you really have changed

Evie - isn't that what I'm supposed to do.

Silas - you tryna get her high so you can fuck her, ain't it? Let me tell you something, Evie is mine. You ain't never had a chance.

Evie - Khalil leave.

He walked out.

I sat up in Coi's bed and she laid on my chest.  We're not dating , but I did take her on one date.

Coi - what you thinking about?

Vel - when you gonna stop playing with me?

Coi - what you mean?

Vel - girl I've taken you on a date and when I asked you if we could go on another date, you shut that idea down. Was it really that bad?  

Coi - no. Javel I had a great time with you. I really like you.

Vel - what's up then
 
Coi - I know you like Evie.

Vel - she's my friend, did I have a small crush on her , yes but I know I ain't gonna get her because of Silas. So I'm moving on.

Coi - well  I'm not.

Vel - of course you gonna hold out hope  for him.  Washing your  time and mine.

I got up and walked off.

She gonna be waiting forever  because Evie and Silas ain't breaking up.
