I smiled as I opened the door to my dads house. Me and Silas decided to visit New Orleans just to catch up with everybody. I haven't really spoken to my dad or brother like that because I know how busy they are.
Sy'Rai ran over to my dad. He looked like he was in bad shape.
Silas - Mike you alright?
Mike - I'm fine.
Evie - you don't look fine.
Prescott - because he's not. He got sick last month and he was experiencing chest pains and we took him to the ER , only to find out he has a viral infection and now it's affecting his heart.
Evie - and y'all didn't think to tell me
Prescott - Evie you're not the most rational person.
Evie - I still should've been made aware. You know y'all did the same thing when mama died. I was the last person to know and by that time , she was already wasting away.
Liv - Evie we didn't want to stress you out. Y'all just moved when the situation happened
Evie - so what y'all was going tell me about it when it was too late.
Mike - I told them to not tell you because I didn't want you to worry
Evie - I'm an adult , not a child. I feel like I shouldn't been made aware of the situation so I could help out
Mike - you have children that need to be taken care of
Evie - and the same children I have to take care of are the same ones that need their grandpa.
Silas - Evie , they were only looking out for us
Evie - great you're on their side. So what you saying is, they shouldn't have told me
Mike - I'm doing better now anyway
Evie - you are hooked on to machines right now and you call that better
Silas - calm down , okay it's doesn't take all that
Evie - shut up
I feel like I shouldn't been made aware of the situation. I could've helped out with getting my dad a good doctor and helping out around the house.
Prescott - Evie calm down for real. We were only looking out for your mental
Evie - you think that just because I was a drug addict , that Ima jump back into it because of this? I'm been off drugs for 4 years now. Have faith in me
Prescott - the smallest things can tigger you
Evie - forget it
I walked out the house. I need to get way and process what I was just told.

I looked down at the kids.
Silas - I'm really sorry
Liv - you're fine. Just go chase after Evie
I went outside and saw her sitting in the car.
Evie - what Si?
Silas - just checking on you.
Evie - they really think I'm fall off the wagon over that.
Silas - didn't you turn to drugs when your mom died
Evie - my dad's not dying and if he doesn't I know how to cope now
I hugged her.
Mike will come out of this okay.
