I walked out of my room to check on my dad. He smiled at me.
Michael- good morning , you're up early
Evie - I just came to check on you
Michael - I'm fine. Congratulations are in order
Evie - Si told you I was pregnant, huh?
Michael - he told me last night after you went to bed.
Evie - I hope it's a boy but I'm fine with another girl.
He smiled.
He lying about feeling fine. I can tell by the look on his face , he's not well , he's just saving face.
Evie - have you been to a doctors appointment yet?
Michael - I'm supposed to go in next week
Evie - I'll go with you
Michael - what about the girls school
Evie - we've settled that with their teachers and are temporarily homeschooling them.
Silas walked in
Silas - morning y'all
Evie - good morning
Michael - hey
Silas - you feeling alright today dad?
Michael- I'm good
Silas - you hungry? I can go ahead and make breakfast.
Michael - I'm not hungry
Evie - even if it's a little bit you still have to eat. You haven't even taken your medicine and you're suppose to take it after you eat.

I sat and ate with Michael in his room while Evie was getting the girls dressed.
Michael - my condition is getting worse. The infection is spreading, my legs are always hurting and swollen. The chest pains are unbearable at times. I'm trying to hang in there for y'all though, especially Evie.
If Michael dies , Evie will be absolutely devastated.
Silas - you're going to be okay. I promise you.
I handed him his medicine.
Evie walked in with Solana and Salem.
Salem - pop pop mommy has a baby in her belly
Michael - your dad told me
Salem - How does daddy know?
Silas - I helped the baby get in there
Salem - I don't want no more babies after this one
Evie - me either
Silas - yes you do.
Evie - I'm dead serious , after this baby , birth control will be used.
Michael- do y'all have names picked out
Evie - I'm sure it'll be a boy so I have the name Elias Simon Montgomery .
Michael - Simon?
Silas - it's my dad's name
Michael - you didn't want to have a Junior
Silas - Evie didn't want it. I want on board with Silas Octavius Montgomery Jr. and she said no
Evie - I don't like it.

I went outside to see Scott smoking.
Silas - Scott you out here smoking?
Scott - it's a cigarette
Silas - you alright?
Scott - Evie is still mad at me.
Silas - I understand where she's coming from. I feel like we've should've known about Mike's health.
Scott - Evie likes to get in her own head and over think things. I was trying to protect her
Silas - if Mike died what would you tell her because I can guarantee you , she'll never forgive you for something like that, if you kept it from her.
Scott - I don't know. I barely know my sister despite growing up alongside her. When she first got addicted , I shut it all out. I probably should've stopped her as a big brother but I felt like if she wasn't listening to our dad , she wouldn't listen to me. I don't know how you raised Sy'Rai by yourself
Silas - I had to because I dam sure wasn't gonna let her be taken by the state.
Scott - how old were you when your grandma dead
Silas - 17, I got emancipated from my mom at 16 , stayed with my grandma until she died and then moved back in my childhood home around the same time. Only thing I was really paying for in that whole was the water and electricity because my dad had the house paid off before she died.
Scott - you think you'll ever talk to your mom again?
Silas - after she tried to kill Evie , no.
Scott - I would give up everything, just have one conversation with my mom. Evie really didn't get to experience our mom and it sucks because from the time Evie was 5 up until she was 12 , our mom was battling cancer, and she would beat it but it would come right back.
Silas - watching your family deteriorate and you can't do nothing about it , is very disheartening and it messes you up.

I walked back in the house with Scott and saw Evie and Liv panicked.
Evie - dad's not breathing.
I hurried and called 911.
