Chapter 19
WE ARE on our way to Red’s house in a barrio. How do we get here either? All I remember is...
When the morning shine and when I go out, I saw Red’s sitting on the sofa with a bag on his side.
He’s in a deep thought.
“Are you okay?” I asked him and sat next to him. He laid his bag on his lap bago tumingin at tumango sa akin. “I guess so,” he replied.
“The breakfast is ready already. Mauna ka na,” Red stated bago bumuntong hininga ulit. Something is really off with Red. I’m sure of it.
“How about you? Kumain ka na?” I questioned and he shook his head that made me sigh and ask again. “Is there any problem?”
“Nothing really. Magpapaa—” Red didn’t had the chance to finish his words when Aoi came.
“Good morning. Oh, Red, saan ka punta? Hiking?” she greeted then asked Red before she walks toward our direction. Umupo siya sa isahang sofa saka umunat.
“Nope. Is Ryo and Tyron still asleep?” he answered. He looks tense. Iniiba niya ang usapan.
“Nah. I already knocked sa kanilang pintuan. Both of them are fixing themselves,” she responded bago tumingin sa akin. She smiled so I did the same.
After so many minutes, the two of them go down with their fresh looks.
Tyron sat next to me kaya umusog ako and Ryo on the other hand sat on the other single sofa.
“Saan ang gala mo ngayon, Atienza?” Ryo asked saka tumayo at pumuntang kusina. Pagbalik niya, expect what to be expected, may dala siyang kape. What’s so new with Ryo holding a coffee, right?
“Home. I’m going to visit mom this October. I will going to stay there for good. Dad already go home yesterday kaya susunod ako. You know, family bonding. So I want to bid a proper goodbye to the four of you,” he delivered kaya nagkatinginan kaming apat.
“ISANG BUWAN?!” Aoi yelled kaya napangiwi ako. Red nodded bago bumuntong hininga ulit.
See, I am right! Something is indeed off about Red this day.
“That’s why you look like cats and dogs!” nabaling kami kay Tyron nang sinabi niya iyon. Our forehead creased dahil doon.
“Huh? Is that an idiom, Tyron?”
Tyron laughed while saying the work tumpak. Gosh, this creature of mine has something! Tss!
“Idioms can really be so complicated...” Red mumbled kaya napatingin ako rito.
“Anyway. Back to topic!” Ryo snapped out. “Kailan ang alis mo, Atienza?” that question made Red lower his head and sigh heavily.
“Now...” mahina lang iyon pero rinig na rinig namin. “ANO?!” Ryo and Aoi shouted in unison kaya napangiwi ako. Ugh! Ang sakit sa tainga!
The latter then pant severely.
“I have a suggestion!” Aoi raised her hand kaya napabaling kami—even Red to her.
“Why don’t we come? Family bonding, right? Beside, I want to see tita Riana too, orb!”
