Day 50

Sonic's P.O.V
Today's the day. Me and Sally will finally be able to be in a relationship. Everything is perfect. Ames and I are on good terms. She seems to be doing better. There's nothing stopping me. I jogged in a spot as if to keep my energy up.

Amy's licking her strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone with a chocolate flake. I bought her one as part of an apology gift for all the avoiding over the past week and because it's getting warmer. We're sitting in the park - Amy and I have always preferred staying outside when it was possible. Besides near this time you see more daffodils begin to grow.

"You're so cheery today," she noticed.
"Because today's going to be the day. Me and Sally are getting back together." I said, stretching my left arm to my right side.
"Getting back to what racing?" She joked, referring to all the stretching I was doing. It's strange not having her as a fangirl she's not affected at all from the idea of me and Sally being girlfriend and boyfriend not that I think she would have ever attempting from stopping it from happening.
"You're hilarious," I rolled my eyes.
"So how are you going to ask her?"
"I'm just going to dash to Acorn castle and ask her off course," I winked joyfully towards the pink hedgehog.
"And?" She asked expectingly.
"And?..."
"That's it? You're not romantic at all, are you?" She shook her head unimpressed.
"Sally doesn't need a big serenade, it's Sally. Besides I'm sonic the hedgehog I am very charming with the ladies," I explained with a side grin. Her face still remained dissatisfied.
"I said romance it doesn't need to be big, but it shouldn't be treated like it's nothing. What about flowers? Or at least saying something sweeter than.." she then gave a side grin and lowered her voice, "Sally, it's the right time. Let's be girlfriend and boyfriend."
I lifted my right eyebrow, " Was that supposed to be an impression of me?"
"Good, right?" She smirked proudly.
I messed up her light pink quills jokingly which nearly caused her to drop her icecream. Playfully she stuck out her tongue in exchange.
Curiously I ask sitting beside her on the wooden bench, " Since when do I act or sound like that" I laughed, "okay Romeo how would you ask?"
"Get her flowers, delphinium are her favourite and they're her birth flower. Go somewhere nice and talk about it or even go on a walk. It doesn't need to be fancy, just meaningful." She would then give a gleeful smile and gush at the thought of it. I guess even if Amy forgets me she remains a hopeless romantic which makes me smile for some reason.
"I still think it's fine to just ask her" I shrug.
"I'm telling you, sonikku girls love to be cared for,"
"Sonikku?"
Her cheeks lit up slightly she probably had not realised she even called me it, " o-oh," she stuttered embarrassed she began to twirl her quills with her right hand looking to the side. "Is it not okay if I call you that? I just thought since it's what I used to call you, it would be fi-"
"No, no, it's great - I'm glad it's just... it's been a while. " I  interupted to ease her nerves smiling happily as I felt my cheeks go slightly warm.
"Great." She'd grin back happily.

I'm walking to Sally's Palace. I even put on a brown jacket for this. I'm holding the flowers in my hand once allowed entry by the guards.

"Hello, your Highness, I assume you wish to see Princess Sally?" A maid chipmunk greeted with brown eyes and blonde hair.
"Yes, please," I smiled.
"I shall get her right away," she curtsied before rushing off.
I looked around and not much changed the same grey stone walls, same sky blue banners and same old shiny floor.

"Sonic?" Sally greeted she looked beautiful with an orange gown with gold accents and her hair done into a braid as she wore her golden crown.
"Hey sal, you look great," I smiled and handed her the flowers.
She seemed surprised but was happy as she held onto the flowers gratefully. "These are my favourite, how did you know?..."
"Could we go on a walk?"
"Sonic the hedgehog? Wants to go on a walk?"
To be honest, I'd rather run, but Amy wasn't wrong about the flowers, so I'm sure Sally would be happier walking.

Amy's P.O.V
It's 3 pm, and I can't help but wonder how it went. Rouge is doing cream, and my nails, mine are currently drying, and she's made my nails clear with pink roses on them it's really cute she's always had a talent for makeup. We're sitting near the master emerald, and naturally, Knuckles is here also to guard it, so the sneaky bat doesn't get any ideas.

Whoosh!

"There you are!" Sonic cheered happily and grabbed me by the hips twirling me around in the air.
"Her nails aren't dry!" Rouge exclaimed mortified.
I couldn't help but laugh gleefully. "she said yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Cream was giggling, "wow Mr Sonic is so happy."

Sonic's P.O.V
Yes, I'm happy that Sally's my girlfriend. But part of me wanted to keep twirling her because of Amy's laugh. These little things I've started to admire more ever since I've avoided her and when she passed out.
