2 - the meeting

At this point, i have no clue what I am doing but I hope that by meeting with Jonas is the right thing to do. I barley make it to meeting in time and by the time we get there Jonas is leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed waiting for me to turn up. He greets us and welcomes me into his office and tells Leah to wait outside for me to be finished in there. I walk into Jonas' office and sit down on the leather chair opposite his desk where he is sitting.

He speaks to me about my instagram page and tells me that the stuff I posted on there was excellent and he says that I am very talented for my age. He also mentions that there were scouts at all on my matches, for my club and school, and they reported back to him about my talents and efforts. He then proceeds to ask me a question that I didn't quite manage to hear, as I started to get very anxious about being here. I start to sweat and I am completely zoned out, Jonas notices this and quickly tells me that he is not going anywhere but he is just going to step outside to grab Leah for me.

I don't fully comprehend what he said to me but I just slowly nod my head at him. When he returns he has Leah with him and she enters the room and sits next to me. She quickly pulls me into a tight embrace and tells me that it will be alright whilst placing a kiss on my forehead. The one and only Leah Williamson, giving me a kiss. I wanted to die right there, my heart couldn't take her being around me like this much longer.
Jonas asks me is i am ready for him to talk again and I nod so he starts. The question was if i would like to sign for Arsenal and I immediately say yes whilst vigorously nodding my head with a big grin spread across my face. I let go of Leah and leap up from her arms to start dancing around the room with no shame. Leah then gets up too and grabs my hands again and we both jump around in excitement together as if we had been best friends for years, not just met a couple hours ago.

I sit down and calm my excitement and tell Jonas that I don't know if I will be able to sign the papers due to my school and also I don't think my parents would be willing for me to move up here to train with the team. Jonas then tells me that all the agreements with them and the school have been sorted out with a suitable timetable for me to use so I can train and learn and my parents are fine with me moving up here to pursue my dream as long as I was being looked after by someone. He said that the final agreement he needed was mine, to say that i actually wanted to sign.

Jonas gives me three options of teams to sign for. I could either sign for the u18s, u21s or the senior team. He adds that if i choose the senior team i wouldn't play matches for as long due to my age and lack of experience playing for professional teams. I immediately say i would love to play for the senior team as that is what I've always dreamed of. I ask if that requires me to move up here so i can train daily and he says yes and ask if that was a problem. I reply by telling him that it would be no problem to move up here as long as I had a place to stay as i have no money to buy a place of my own. He says that all players are provided with a place to stay unless they want to buy their own.

Jonas then gathers the papers for me to sign to become an official arsenal player. I look over at Leah and she is already looking at me in admiration. As soon as she sees me looking back at her she takes my hands gently and tells me that I will fit in perfectly and I will do fine so there is nothing to worry about. I then ask Jonas how long the contract is for so he tells me that it is for 2 years and I will be paid 2.5k a month for now. I accept the contract and sign it in-front of the cameras. They take loads of pictures of me signing for them and give me my shirt with the number 20 on the back. I get told that my training starts tomorrow so I should probably go and get some rest before my first day as an Arsenal player. I ask him where i will be staying for my time here and he tells me that I will be house-sharing with Leah and Beth, as i have already met Leah and it seems like we get along well together. Leah looks very happy with this and tells Jonas for his time and for signing me and I walk out of his office with Leah on the way to her house.
