15 - "im not allowed in the pub"

They thank me for talking with them so I walk away with Leah, very happy. We walk back to the changing rooms together and we are greeted with loud music and dancing. I laugh and join in celebrating the win with the biggest smile on my face. Beth and Viv come over to me and ask "you gonna do a lap of the pitch with us?" I agree but ask "is Leah going to do it too?" Beth then replies, quietly "we haven't asked her yet but she will probably come with if your going because shes is a massive simp." I smile as I grab Leah's hand and drag her onto the pitch to do a lap. When we walk on, everyone cheers which makes me happy and I smile even more because I feel warm on the inside.

I walk up to one of the fans in the crowd and ask if she wants to take a picture with me, and she nods in return so I take a picture with her but Leah jumps in so its all three of us not just with me. I punch her arm and tell her "oi Leah, she doesn't want a picture with you because you're not cool, only I am!" The fan laughs at us so I ask her "how old are you?" She tells me that she is 8 so I continue "I was about 8 when I started playing football you know. You could be in my shoes one day." I leave her to go to continue the lap and I take pictures with a few of the fans for about 30 minutes until we have to go back inside and the stadium is almost empty.

In the tunnel, on the way back to the changing rooms, I see Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Mary Earps walking in-front of us so I run up to them leaving Leah, Viv and Beth behind. I stand next to Mary, walking with them and interrupt their conversation "hey," they jump and look at me "so I know I play for Arsenal, but, I was wondering if I could maybe, possibly get a photo with you guys since I have been a huge fan of you for what seems like forever." They smile at me and agree to it so I take one with them with a huge grin on my face and I thank them, running away, back to Leah, Beth and Viv who are all laughing together at me. I slide under Leah's arm but before Leah could speak I ask "why you guys laughing?" Leah opens her mouth to speak but is interrupted by Viv saying "we were laughing at you. It's just cute how much you appreciate everything when your really still a child. It's nice but hilarious that you don't care what others think about you." Leah looks at Viv and crossly says "Viv!" I chuckle at Leah and we all walk back to the changing rooms to get our stuff.

Leah follows me in quickly and picks up all my stuff, and hers, before I could get the chance to. I smoothly take my bag from her, replacing it with my hand and she looks down at our fingers intertwining with each others and smiles. We walk back together to our room talking and smiling about the match we just won. I get in the shower and Leah secretly messages the team to see if they want to go to the pub tonight to celebrate. The agree and she tells them that we will meet at 8. I walk back into our room, wrapped in a towel, and I ask Leah what she has been doing as she has a small guilty smile on her face. She tells me that I need to get ready to go out and meet the team at the pub for 8. I roll my eyes and slump onto the bed, sad. Leah notices and asks "what's wrong my love? Do you not want to go to the pub because I can cancel." I sniffle and reply "no its not that. I do want to go. It's just,"

I look up at her and continue "im not allowed in the pub because im too young." A few tears roll down my cheek and i add as Leah pulls me into a hug "you can go without me though. I will stay here by myself." She shakes her head at me and as she looks at me she replies "don't be silly. I've asked Ella, as she goes to this pub all the time and is good friends with the pub owner, and she asked him if you could come down with us since your part of the team and he said yes, and that you can have a few drinks as well as long as you don't get drunk." I wipe the tears from my face and ask "really?" She nods so I pull her in closer and whisper "thank you Le. You really do think about me don't you?" She strokes my still wet hair and replies "yeah, I guess I do. Come on you need to get changed and I need to shower or we are going to be late for the others."
