It wasn't too busy today since it was only a Monday so most people would be at work and children would be at school.

"Le, come on! The beach! Hurry up!" I grab her hand and start running onto the beach with her, laughing and smiling.

The beach was my home.

The countless days I've spent at the beach have definitely been the highlights of my life.

I would sit, read my book, go in the sea, surf, sunbathe, eat ice cream, play football.

I would literally be by myself at the beach and still be the happiest version of myself.

Leah brings a bag with her, probably with food in or whatever, but it took forever for her to get it though.

We, well rather Leah, finds a nice spot on the beach to sit at, since I was too in my own world taking in the beach and the air.

Leah then grabs a big blue blanket out of the bag to sit on.
The colour of the blanket perfectly matching the colour of her eyes.

The twinkle in her eyes now visible and reflecting the sunlight like it was the most natural thing possible.

I love that twinkle. It's so beautiful. Just like her soul.

"Wow. Leah. You brought everything with you. And you managed to fit it all in there." I say in admiration and awe.

She chuckles and sits down on the blanket with me, sitting closer than close with her hands behind her, supporting her body to keep her up.

The beach was so empty so that, after an hour, I lay my head on her lap, looking up into her eyes as she looks down into mine. "Did anyone ever tell you just how beautiful you are?" She says whilst admiring the features on my face.

Beautiful? I don't think anyone's ever called me beautiful before.

Sure ive been called pretty, cute, hot and other things like that but never beautiful.

It just hits to a deeper level.

Im deep in thought when she interrupts with a question "do you think your beautiful?" That's when it hit me. I don't think im beautiful.

My smile falters slightly as I try to wrap my head around the concept.

Leah takes my silence as a no so she rubs her fingers through my hair and tells me "well, I think you're the most beautiful girl in the world."

I smile and blush "that's obviously a lie."

She just shakes her head in disagreement "I think you're the most beautiful person to walk in the universe."

I reach for her hand and start to play with her fingers whilst trying to suppress my smile "do you really though?" I ask, my insecurities now taking over.

"Of course I do. I've never met someone as perfect as you. I love you."

I stare deep into her eyes and reply "I love you too."

After what felt like hours which was probably more like a couple minutes, Leah says "come on," and pulls me up along with her, packing everything into her bag again and grabbing me hand, "lets go get some ice cream!"

I grin, happily following her orders, letting her take full charge on what we are doing. That's what I love about her, shes so confident in herself.

"Can I have the swirly one with a flake please?" I ask the cashier politely, forgetting the name of the ice cream I love the most. Leah then asks for the same as me and smiles when we both get them.

She pays for them, like the gentlewoman she is, I think she secretly likes taking care of me because her smile is so radiant when she does things like this for me.

I drag Leah to a small bench over looking the ocean, not too far onto the beach but just close enough, and we just sit there together.

I take my ice cream in one hand and Leah's in the other and Leah does the same. I take a lick of my ice cream then look at her, "you know, I really do love you."

She gives my hand a squeeze then stares into my eyes and replies "and I really love you too. So much."

I shake my head "no but like," I pause and take another lick of my ice cream, thinking of how to phrase this next part, "I- um- I don't just want you to be a chapter in my life, I want you to – like – be my whole book." I tell her, trying to explain to her what I feel for her in some way I can get her understand.

"I'll have you know babe, that I want you to be my whole book to, don't you worry." She gives my hand a reassuring squeeze, wiping away all my insecurities.

I blush at her words before she whispers into my ear "you know, I really want to kiss you right now."

I gasp, "control yourself Williamson! Just you wait until later."

She just giggles at me and takes another lick of her ice cream.
