12 - the drive

In the morning, I get woken up at 5 by Leah's alarm. I groan. "Le, its too early, go back to sleep." Leah turns her alarm off and says "nope," she switches the light on and continues "good morning beautiful." I look up at her unimpressed and slightly blinded by the light "don't try that with me. I'm not getting up, I refuse! I just want to lay here with you forever!" She chuckles and replies "me too beautiful, but we have to get up for the coach."

She pulls me up from the bed carefully, and starts to get ready. I do the same but I do it as slow as a snail, so Leah grabs my gear and gives them to me once she finished getting changed into her Arsenal hoodie and Arsenal trousers. I change into my clothes, which is the same as Leah, and she picks me up to take me downstairs and have breakfast before we leave for the coach.

Beth is already full of energy and has made us all some breakfast so we can leave quicker. I thank her for making it and I eat it quickly with them. I take the plates and wash them up before grabbing their bags from upstairs and taking them to the door. I call to Beth and Leah to leave and ask them if they have everything they needed before giving Leah a short and sweet kiss, right in-front of Beth. She looks at us jaw-dropped into what she just saw. Leah takes my face in her hands and asks "are you alright gorgeous? Have your nerves calmed down a bit?" I nod and give her a small hug to say thank you. I grab my bag and Leah's hand and walk out to the car as Beth follows us, still shocked by what she witnessed, and gets ready to drive us to the training ground where everyone is being picked up from.

When we arrive we are the first ones there so I mutter to Leah "of course we are the first ones here" Leah smiles back at me and gets out the car with Beth, who goes to the toilet quickly before we leave. I get out and onto the coach so we can choose the best seats. We choose the ones right at the back and we put our bags on them to claim them. Just then the rest of the team loudly clamber onto the bus and fill up the rest of the seats. I sit down next to the window with Leah next to me and Beth with Viv opposite us. I rest my head on Leah shoulder once we leave the training ground so she places her hand on my thigh discreetly and whispers "go to sleep short stuff. You need the rest, I will wake you later." I reply by saying "oi – im not short" and I close my eyes to go to sleep as Leah replies "sure your not" and goes to take her hand off my thigh but I place my hand over hers to keep it there.

I stay asleep for about 2 hours and during that time Leah manages to complete the crossword in the newspaper by cheating and looking at the answers because she cant think of the words to put in the spaces. Just before I wake up Viv asks Leah if anything was going on between us as we look very close. Before Leah could answer her Beth butts in by saying "well, there was a very juicy kiss this morning that I happened to witness, so there is definitely something going on because that kiss was not nothing. They didn't even try to hide it, they just did it right in-front of me." Leah glares at Beth then looks back at Viv and replies "ok, yes I do like her and I think she likes me too, but we couldn't be together anyway. Think about what the media would say and what everyone would say. It just wouldn't work." At that moment I wake up slowly and start to fidget a bit so Leah places a gentle kiss on my forehead to wake me.

I smile up at her but stop as I realise we were on the bus and the whole team is there. I take my head off her shoulder and ask "how much longer left Le?" She chuckles and answers "only four more hours left gorgeous." I groan in response and ask "well, what have you been doing?" She tells me proudly "I finished my crossword" then Beth loudly adds, unasked "yeah sure you did. By cheating!" and then proceeds to show me the video she took of Leah looking at the answers. I look back at Leah in disbelief and shake my head in doubt "I thought you were better than that." Then Leah asks me, in a very happy tone "want to help me with my sudoku now?"

I roll my eyes and huff but reluctantly agree anyway as I knew that she is terrible at them. Viv tells us "you guys are so weird, why are you doing sudoku?" I just shake my head and continue to help Leah with her sudoku and we finish it in 30 minutes, which was a new record for Leah, so she looks at me with a big grin slapped across her face so I look back at her and pull her in for a big hug. Leah then tells me "I downloaded your favourite show for you to watch if you want, love." I immediately pull away from the hug and reply "you don't have to ask twice Le," I get the show set up on my phone and continue "did you want to watch with me?" She smiles at me and nods so I give her one of my headphones and I have the other so we can watch together. She leans onto my chest so I place both my arms around her and kiss her forehead softly to let her feel more comfortable with me.

After an episode had finished I look at Leah, who is very invested in the show, so I smile at her and stroke her head. She looks up at me so I lean down and kiss her lightly on the lips. She pulls away quickly and says "not in-front of everyone, love. What if they report us?" I chuckle and reply "sorry Le, I just couldn't help myself. Your too irresistible when you look all cute and cuddly" She smirks at me and says "later my love, I promise. I do love you and I wish I could kiss you all the time but we have to stay safe. Come on – lets keep watching, its getting good!" She turns her direction back to the show and presses play. I cant help but stare at her until Beth startles me by saying "you've got yourself a keeper there. She cares a lot about you and wants to protect you and im pretty sure I heard her say, earlier, that she wants to spend the rest of her life with you." I smile at Beth a quietly say "I know and im going to make sure that happens, with all of my heart."

I continue watching with Leah until the next episode finishes and we are almost at the hotel, where we are staying, so I look out the window and Leah sits up from my chest and snaps a quick photo of me without me knowing, and posts it on her instagram with the caption "First game for Arsenal today for Jess, away at Manchester United. Hopefully she can get a goal today and we can win it for her. Have a great debut game!" My phone pings so I check it to see I have been tagged in a post by Leah so I look at her with my phone in hand, but she is looking away from me smirking too much, so I clear my throat "Leah!" She turns her attention to me. I continue "care to explain?" She giggles and answers "well, you looked so cute, and i was going to make a post about you anyway, so I posted it. Is that not ok?" I roll my eyes to look back out the window telling her "you are actually such a big simp, Leah," I look back at her "and you will be paying for this!" I wink at her and look back out the window, thinking of ideas to make her pay. Viv whispers to Beth "God, they are such flirts," and Beth replies "yeah, and it's worse than them kissing and that's saying something because that was something else." Leah and I both giggle together like naughty children trying, yet failing, to act innocent and we both hug each other, till our faces turned bright red and we reached the hotel.

A/N: this one seemed slightly good i think.
Omg I'm actually so excited for the Chelsea game on Sunday!!! What do you guys think the score will be?? Or even for any of the matches. The Villa Spurs game looks like it's gonna be great too.
Villa's midfield is gonna be tough to crack, Dali, Nobbs, Staniforth & Daly up top is going to be a great team.
Sad Arsenal gotta play them in the Conti cup 😢
