Emris' pov

John and I were walking in the woods again. Following the direction of the tracks. I noticed some slight smoke though the leaves. "You see that?" I asked John.

"Yeah." He said. We walked towards it. The fire was out when we reached it, but the stuff was still there. "We gonna wait for them?"

"Yeah, we are." I replied and sat down on the floor. I tried to restart the fire, as I was busy I heard faint screaming. I raised my head. John heard it too. I got up and walked over to it. "Emris, what are you doing?" John whispered. I ignored him and continued to walk.

Three people ran away from a dozen walkers. I didn't see who they were, only that they were running. Two adults and a kid. I went after them.

I was following them for a while. I wasn't directly behind them. I went through the woods, with John right behind me. "How do you know that they went this way?" He asked.

"Someone from my group taught me how to track." I replied, I wasn't gonna say who because I wanted to keep Daryl and everyone else off of my mind for as long as possible.

They were going to a car. I was too far away to see who they were.

Night fell and I was observing them. The kid was in the car and the other two were sitting outside by a campfire. John and I had to play it safe so we were just watching them from the woods.

A group found them too. It was the same group that snuck up to me in the middle of the night, the one John used to be with.

The gray haired man put a gun to the man's head, another guy to the woman's.

"You screwed up, asshole." The gray haired said. "Today's a day of reckoning, sir. Restitution. A balancing of the whole damn universe. Shit, and I was thinking of turning in for the night on New Year's Eve." He laughed. "Now, who's gonna count down the ball dropper with me, huh? Ten Mississippi. Nine Mississippi. Eight Mississippi."

"Joe!" An all too familiar voice said. "Hold up."

"You're stopping me on eight, Daryl"

Daryl.

It was Daryl. He was alive. I found him. I wanted to run into his arms right now, but then that would be the last thing that I do. Not too bad, but I didn't plan to die tonight.

Daryl walked forward. "Just hold up."

"This is the guy that killed Lou, so we got nothing to talk about." Another guy said.

"The thing about nowadays is that we got nothing but time." The gray haired said. I didn't know his name, but I knew he was annoying as shit. "Say your piece, Daryl."

"These people, you're gonna let 'em go. These are good people."

"Now, I think Lou would disagree with you on that. I'll, of course, have to speak for him and all 'cause your friend here strangled him in a bathroom."

"You want blood. I get it." Daryl put down his crossbow. "Take it from me, man. Come on."

"This man killed our friend. You say he's good people. See, now that right there is a lie. It's a lie!" He said and the other people started to beat Daryl.

John grabbed me before I could run to them. "You have to stay, Emriss. I get he's one of your people, but we have to wait." He bid me softly.

A fat guy got the kid out of the car.

"You leave him be!" Another familiar voice said, it belonged to Rick. Then I recognised the woman as Michonne.

I heard Carl's familiar cries. It was really hard for me to stay put now.
