TW: Mentions of assault, swearing
-Ranboo POV-
"I don't know what to do Aimsey!" I groan out as a rub a hand across my face.
"Well do you love Tubbo?" They ask.
"I think so?"
"And do you love whateverhisfaceis?"
"Of course not! He's just a weirdo who works at Shaws!"
"The solution seems pretty clear to me." they shrug.
"You're so helpful," I say sarcastically.
"I try to be," Aimsey says "but really Ranboo, come on!"
I shake my head, I know that I like Tubbo, quite a bit actually. However, he doesn't like me at the moment and definitely doesn't want to see me so I'm at a complete standstill.
"I don't know..." I murmur "maybe I will text Mr. Whateverhisnameis."
"No!" They shout "Are you stupid?! You literally don't know his name!"
"Yeah but..."
"But nothing" they continue "absolutely not I forbid it!"
"Okay, dad!" I roll my eyes.
They grin, but they then stop suddenly and start straight ahead.
"Ranboo." They say "look."
I look ahead as well and see a familiar brunette and blond-haired duo. They appear to be walking toward us chatting and laughing.
"It's okay Aims just keep walking."
We start to slowly walk forward and they stop five feet from us when they see us.
I let out a small gasp. Turbo's pale skin is littered with purple, red, and yellowish bruises, and parts of his face seem to be scanned over.
"Tubbo!" I say loudly with a concerned look "are you okay?"
He just looks at me and then glances at Tommy sniffling slightly.
"Yeah he's alright mate" Tommy picks up on the look and grins at me.
"What happened?" I ask redirecting my gaze at Tubbo.
he scuffs the toe of his shoe against the gravel path.
"Um, attack?" He finally mutters out.
"Who!" I demand angrily.
Aimsey lays a placating hand on my forearm.
"Calm down Ranboo." They say gently.
I shake with suppressed frustration.
"Why do you care?" Tubbo levels his gaze with mine.
Aimsey and Tommy exchange a look, completely ready to detain one of us if needed.
"Why wouldn't I care?" I ask confused.
"No reason." Tubbo shrugs.
"Ranboo we should probably head out."
I nod my head.
My fists are still clenched out of anger and my blood boils slightly.
"It was nice seeing you again Tubbo." They say "and you too crazy blond oddball."
"No problem." Tommy says "I'm pretty great."
Tubbo rolls his eyes and drags Tommy off gently thwacking him with his arm as they go.
"Ranboo, chill the fuck out." Aimsey says laughing "You're attracting attention from the child over there."
I see that Tommy is indeed still looking at us with a smug look on his face. I hear a ding in my pocket and pull out my phone.
I glance at my phone and then turn it to show Aimsey.
"Hey, it's Jake," They read aloud "Want to meet up?"
"Who the fuck is Jake?" They ask tapping their chin.
"Mr. Whateverhisfaceis" I sigh.
"Oh yeahhhhh." They say "Him."
I nod.
"I don't like his vibe." They tell me.
"Trust me, I'm well aware."
"Are you now?" They ask grinning.
"I said 'sure, when and where?' does that sound good?"
"Ranboooo" they whine "it doesn't sound good actually, I think you should stay away from him. What if he's another Dylan?"
"He won't be," I say confidently.
They just roll their eyes and check the time.
"Well, I have to go to work byeeee!"
"Bye Aimsey!" I say as I watch them retreat.
I turn my heel and start to walk toward the cafe because the wind picked up and I know Tubbo won't be working because J just saw him. I get to the cafe and rain starts pouring down in sheets outside right as I enter the door.
I spot Wilbur at the counter with his chin perched on his palm as his eyes glaze over scrolling through TikTok.
"Hey, Wilbur," I say approaching him.
"Ranboo!" He exclaims "How are you?"
"I'm okay. How are you?"
"I'm well thank you."
"How's my boss," I ask in a teasing tone.
"I actually haven't seen him today," Wilbur says blushing slightly.
"Suffering from withdrawal are we?" I tease again.
"Shut up." He mutters "Would you like some coffee?"
"That sounds great, thank you Will."
"What can I get for you?"
"Surprise me," I say waving my hand.
"Have you seen Tubbo recently?'
"Yep saw him in the park today why?"
"He's just been acting odd is all, usually he's perky and funny but he seems down recently, even before someone attacked him," Wilbur says as he works.
"I heard about that, what happened?" I ask.
"No one is sure, to be honest, Tubbo hasn't been as chatty as usual. I hope he's okay."
"So do I." I sat taking the coffee that Wilbur hands to me and taking a seat by the window.
I stare out into the rain and think about everything that has happened recently. I love Michael so much but he's kind of a crazy cat. I've been reading my way through Tubbo's extensive book collection and found a thin journal tucked between two books that I didn't read because it wasn't mine to read. I miss him so much the apartment feels lonely without him. Michael helps but it's still not the same. the medicine for him already seems to be working though and for that I'm grateful.
I hear the bell above the doorway clang and Tubbo and Tommy run in, they are both completely soaked and it reminds me of the night that I and Tubbo ran in the rain. I miss the old days. I must look melancholy because Tommy approaches me and sits on the seat across from me.
"What's up, big man?" He asks.
"Why have you started calling me that?" I ask genuinely curious.
"Force of habit," Tommy says flushing.
"What?" I ask.
"That's usually what Tubbo calls you when he talks to me about you."
He flashes me a grin and stands up waving goodbye. I smile looking out at the rain because now I know Tubbo still thinks about me as I think about him.
