TW: Swearing
-Ranboo POV-
After I drop Tubbo off I head off to the grocery store and park the car. I sit in the car for a few minutes before getting out of the car. I get lost in my head a lot and I try not to around Tubbo because he might need help at any time. I hope therapy helps him, I can't lose him, even though I didn't lose him the pain was overbearing.
I shudder to think about what would happen if he was permanently no longer in my life. It would be horrible.
I walk into Shaws and look around, thinking about what we need for food in the house. I figure I should probably buy some more cat food for Michael because he eats a lot. I wheel my cart to where I found it last and spot Jake at the end of the aisle.
He gives me a bright smile and walks up to me.
"How are you?"
"I'm okay, how are you?" I reply awkwardly.
"I'm good, I missed our date."
"Oh yeah, sorry about that." I scratch the back of my head "my friend was in the hospital."
"Oh no, that sucks, I'm sorry, how are they now?"
"He's doing better, just some recovery and then he should be all set."
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened?"
"I... Don't really think I should say, it's his business."
"That's cool, I'm happy he's on his way to recovery."
"Yep," I say uncomfortably.
"Hey, are you still up for that date? We could hang out and get to know each other better."
"Oh, um, yes I guess so?"
"Great!" He claps his hands together. "Tomorrow?"
"Sure?" I reply.
"What time?"
"I guess like seven, and we could go to the movies."
"That sounds fun, I will pick you up then, can I have your address?"
I'm getting kind of a weird vibe from him but he seems nice so I won't refuse. I dunno he seems very keen on this date idea.
"There's a cafe my friend works at, you can pick me up there."
"Why not your house?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Because it's kinda far and I have a roommate."
"Oh alright then, text me the cafe?"
"Sure," I say wringing my hands.
He gives me another smile and departs to go do his job. My gaze allows him until he's out of sight and I shake my head. I'm probably reading too far into it.
I grab the cat food and leave the aisle to find produce, after selecting some ripe fruits and vegetables I grab some meat and bread before heading to check out.
The cashier is a friendly short brown-haired boy who has sparkly brown eyes.
"Do you have a cat?" He asks me politely.
"I do!" I say "His name is Michael and he's only just a kitten."
"That's so cool, I love cats!" He says slightly sadly "I wish I had one."
I smile kindly at him and he sighs.
"Oops wait I'll get someone to bag your groceries."
"It's okay, I ca-" before I can finish my sentence he has turned away.
