-Mia-
I had left the confines of my bedroom for some normalcy in doing chores. I was loading hay bales into the back of the truck. Clark said that I needed to get out of my head and doing work on the farm always seemed to help. So here I was. Dad then took the truck out to feed the cows and I went to the horse paddock where I started grooming them.
"Is that safe?" Whitney asked and I looked back at him "Being round such a big animal."
"Aristotle wouldn't hurt me. I'm his favourite Kent. Isn't that right boy." I petted his nose "We've known each other forever, from foal to now." I pulled a apple out and fed it to him then patted his back and headed over to Whitney.
"I told my Mom what's going on." I nodded "she was shocked, but accepted it. Especially when i said that I would stand by you. Which I will, as your boyfriend."
"You're a lot stronger than I am right now." i laughed "This is the first time i've been out of the house in days. I did not handle it well."
"Sometimes it's easy to forget that you're only 15."
"Yeah." I make my way past him and over to the wooden slats for the fence "Wanna give me a hand?"
"Sure." I put the tool belt on and then we lifted the wood to the fence I took out the nail. I could have simply pushed it in but I had eyes on me so I used the hammer. I then went to Whitney's side and did the same.
"So, is there like hospital appointments I should know about?" Whitney was awkwardly questioning.
"Haven't..ouch." I wince and pull my thing away. I screeched it on the nail and looking down, I was bleeding. A nail scratch was nothing, yet I was bleeding
"Here." Whitney brought out a tissue and held it to my finger "You must get that all the time." he assumed wrong.
"Not really no." I pulled the tissue away but it was still going "I guess I should go get a plaster." I made my way back to the house and inside where Mom was
"Mom, can I have a plaster please." Mom looked confused because I hadn't asked for that before. I held my thumb up. "Nail accident."
"Sure." she grabbed the first aid box "Hi, Whitney."
"Hey Mrs Kent." he greeted "Mia, I gotta get back to the store, I'll catch up with you later, kay."
"Okay." he kissed my cheek and left. Mom cleaned the scratch and then put a plater on it.
"You're bleeding, you can get wounded."
"I'm as surprised as you are. It must be the foetus, though technically its too young but it must be affecting me somehow." i state "Now more than ever I wish I knew where I came from." she gave me a pitying look

Mom took Clark to help out delivery food to the elderly while I stayed and helped on the farm. Mom and Dad told me that they would be having a meeting with Pricipal Kwan to tell him what was going on. I requested not to be there, when they did and then walked out of the room not wanting to have a argument.
"So how are you dealing with things?" Dad was asked we fed the cows
"Questioning everything, my mind won't shut up and it's difficult to sleep. How about you? Not exactly what you imagined the day you found us or we found you." I comment unloading the bales
"Not exactly but life doesn't give us anything we can't handle."
"I highly doubt that. But I appreciate the sentiment." we finished with the cows and went to work on other parts fo the farm. I was half way with horses when my phone started ringing. I lowered the brush and got my phone out of my pocket.
"Hey, Whitney."
"Mia. Mia can't you meet me at the gorge?" he asked sounding upset.
"Whitney, what's the matter? Has something happened?" I inquire " Tell me ." I insisted walking away from Aristotle
"My dad. He had another heart attack. Please, Mia I need you." he sniffed
"I'll be right there." I hung up and ran out of the paddock and over to my bike i put on my helmet and swing myself over to sit on it, start the engine and rev up before riding off. It takes me five minutes to get to the gorge where Whitney was waiting. Getting off I make my way over
"Whitney. I'm so sorry." I wrap my arms around him he held me tight and buried his face into my neck. We stood there for a while, till he was ready to let go and then he sat us down. "How are you feeling?" I wonder
"Like talking about it is the last thing I wanna do. Talk to me about something else. Anything else. Please." He pleaded but my mind went blank.
"Like what?"
"You've read your medical books. I don't know...what size is the baby?" he questioned and hummed
"Foetus, It won't be a baby, baby for a little while yet. According to the Doctor I was a month along and it's been a week so...roughly the size of a sesame seed." I decided that since I could tell anything about my side, I would for my sanity make this a very human experience. Going by a human calendar unless proven otherwise.
"What else?" he turned slightly more towards me
"Er, well. It's heart has in the early stages of development, limbs and eyes. Nothing distinguishable but they're forming at this point. By the end of this month going onto next month we should start to see limbs. That's when I will be going for my scan. But ultrasounds doing really do it justice." I rattled off information, at least he was easing us into it.
"Boy or girl?" he asked
"There's no telling yet."
"No what do you want. Boy or girl?" he questioned more clearly and that had me stumped. I hadn't ever really thought about it.
"Honestly. I don't know. I haven't thought that far ahead yet. What about you?"
"Girl." he nodded firmly "Could you imagine having a mini me. A girl just like you." well he said that didn't he
"Trust me that would be about a hundred different kinds of complicated. Let's just stick with healthy and leave the inheritance till far, far in the future." he laughed a little. We carried on talking mostly about the foetus then about other random things until it are dark. Then the two of us went home. When I got in Dad and Clark were there and I could just tell that I walked in on something.
"Don't mind me, just walking through."
"Have you been with Whitney?" Clark sighed inquiring and making me stop as I wanted not to get involved
"Yes, he told me what happened and I spent the afternoon distracting him like he wanted. Bye now." I jogged upstairs and started on homework. There was a knock on my open door and I looked to see Clark come in and sit on my bed.
"Dad an I had a argument." he stated
"I could tell."
"Lex offered us tickets to see the metropolis sharks, I thought it would be better than going fishing. Dad didn't and it spiralled into a argument where I let on that I knew Lex had been investigating us and I blurted out that the only reason I go now was to make him happy." he admitted and i leant back against my head board "Now i feel bad."
"As you should, I can spot a few mistakes in what you just told me. 1. You should have just told Dad when you weren't enjoying it anymore. 2. Lex is your friend You like him, Mom is tolerates him. I think he's a pain in the ass and don't trust him, Dad low key loathes Luthors in general. 3. Your an idiot who doesn't think and is way to trusting it's gonna come back and bite you."
"Ever so helpful."
"If you wanted helpful advice you should listen to Mom. Now, I'm about one essay away from crashing out for the night. I would like to get that done, please." Clark sighed and got up leaving my room while I carried on.
