Chapter Fifty - Change in personality

Clark and I were at school when we heard the news that Dad had been in a accident. He heard first and came to get me, then the two of us quickly made our way home. The two of us dismounted my bike and ran inside.

"Mom! Dad! We just heard about the uh..." we dropped our things heading tot the kitchen stopping short and turning around sharply as our parents making out.

"Oh my god, gross." i whine covering my eyes even though I had turned around

"We did not need to see that." Clark added.

"Hey, you two. Just getting the old hero's welcome, you know what I mean?" there was a little squeal and movement. I turned back around uncovering my eyes to see Mom come over to us.

"What's going on?" Clark wondered

"I don't know. He's been acting strange ever since he got home." Mom answered glancing back at Dad as he got a beer out of the fridge.

"Hey, Clark, football game on TV. You wanna watch it with me?" Dad questioned and I became even more confused, this happy go lucky and loose goose man in front of me could not be my Dad. My Dad was uptight and work orientated who needed to get stuff done before relaxation was even a thought.

"Don't you have work to do?" I inquire

"Nah. Chores can wait." he broke the bottle top off using the counter, which he never did "Besides..whoa! I earned the rest, you two can pick up the slack for me can't you?" He wiped the wet bottle on the curtain.

"Jonathan." Mom scolded throwing him a towel

"It's good to see the whole hero thing didn't go to your head." he raised the bottle to us, then there was a knock on the door diverting our attention. Lex was there.

"Hope i'm not interrupting." he voiced

"Hi, Lex. Come in." Mom invited in and he did shoving his hands into his pockets with a little smile

"What's up Lex?" Clark wondered

"I'm looking for Mr Kent." Dad's gaze turned darker seeing Lex and it was darker than his usual distaste for the Luthor .

"What do you want?" Dad retorted

"I heard you pulled out one of my employees out of a car, I wanted to see if you were okay." Lex answered.

"No, you didn't you wanted to see if i was going to sue you or not . Of course that would put an end to my financial difficulty, wouldn't it?" Dad took a sip of his beer. I mean I was confused but Dad sticking it to Lex was fun to watch. It's like everything in his head he was finally letting out.

"Jonathan, that's enough." mom warned

"No. It's not enough, Martha. You see i don't like Lex Luthor, and i don't like Lionel Luthor. I don't like your friendship with my son. In fact, if all of you Luthors were to dry up and die, I wouldn't shead a tear." Dad let rip

"Damn, that was deep." I muttered as Clark took Dad's arm

"Dad that's enough." Clark warned and Dad brushed him off. he then burped in Lex's face and i covered my mouth to hold in my giggles.

"I think I'll take a nap." Dad went to go upstairs and flirted with mom on his way. then she followed him up trying to talk to him.

"Well, that was fun. As much as I would love to continue on with my dad's work. I'm gonna go, Later." i slap my brothers shoulder and head out. I wanted to see this crash site, something about what happened got me both concerned and curious. taking out my phone i called Chloe.

"Hey, Mia. What's up?" she chimed answering

"Did you hear my Dad's crash?" I wonder

"Yeah."

"Well I'm here at the crash site and i'm looking at skid marks saying a car out of control." I tell her "It almost half a mile maybe more back and then it flew into a ditch."

"What's got you so interested?" Chloe inquired "Not usually your thing."

"My Dad is put in danger and I wanna know, of course. Will you come and see if I'm missing anything?" I requested looking around

"i can't right this second but I will call you and we can go together. okay." She replied as i made my way away from the ditch and what would have been the blast.

"Yeah, bye." I hung up and walked further into the woods. I don't know what I was looking for but i know it had to be something. I stopped sighing, this was pointless I wasn't a investigator, that was more Clark and Chloe's thing. I turned on my heel when my ankle brushed up against something. I looked down and saw a flower, it was pretty and personally I'd never seen it before round these parts. crouching down i took a closer examination. Interesting. Then randomly I was hit in the face with something dust like. I gasped then sneezed waving in front of my face. Weird.

standing back up i shook my head feeling woozy for a moment and then it cleared.
