The next morning, Clark and Dad were gone. Mom was outside so i made myself breakfast and went to sit on the sofa. I remained there for a good part of the day, sleeping on and off. In the early eveningI moved back up to my room.
"Hey." I turned hearing Whitney's voice
"Hi."
"Your Mom told me you were up here, how are you feeling?" he wondered coming over to hug and kiss me.
"Better now the nightmares have stopped. I'm glad you're here. i missed you." i moved my hands so they rested on his chest.
"I went home early. Started going through some of my Dad's things." he told me
"Sure you're ready for that?" I wondered
"It's okay." he smiled "It actually brought back some nice memories. And I found this." he pulled away and moved us to sit on the bed. He was holing a box and opened it up to reveal medal.
"These were your Dad's?" I ask trailing my finger over one of them
"Yeah. I knew he served in Vietnam, but he never talked about it." he confided making me smile as well
"do you know what they're for?" I inquire
"Yeah. They keep a registry on the internet. Silver star is for exceptional Valour. He rescued three men in his unit during a firefight. He was wounded but he wouldn't leave his men behind." he explained
"Sounds like your Dad. I wonder why he never told you."
"Maybe he just did. You know you win a couple of football games and people start calling you a hero. It feels good, but maybe he's just trying to tell me throwing a ball isn't the only thing important in life." I rested my hand on his cheek then leaned in to kiss him.
-3rd Person-
Chloe left the hospital and went to the Torch offices. There was Clark doing research, the talked for a little bit when Whitney came in after being with Mia.
"Hey, Whitney. You sure you're in the right place?" Chloe asked him
"Clark called, said he needed my help." Clark gestured over to his girlfriends brother and Chloe looked at clark weirdly.
"I figured out how Mia got her visions. The Explosion." he declared
"You think the blast caused them?" Chloe questioned
"More than that. I think it reacted with her new necklace, causing a ripple effect connecting her with someone." Clark went to the printer and collected the printouts he'd done.
"Clark Kent leaps tall theories in a single bound. How did you arrive at this one?" Chloe inquired
"Apparently there were meteor rocks at the explosion and I found this article" he handed it over. Chloe and Whitney looked at it.
"The Dr Krester syndrome?" Whitney questioned
"It's kind of like post traumatic stress disorder. There were cases reported during the London Blitz." Clark explained
"People in shelters would find themselves psychically linked after a bomb hit nearby." Chloe read out "Okay. I'm sold."
"According to this, in times of stress, anger, or excitement that triggers visions." Whitney continued
"Who was around Mia after the explosion?" Clark questioned
"myself and two deputies. Watts and Vertgo." Whitney answered
"They were with your Dad when we told them about Mia's vision." Clark told Chloe who nodded in understanding
"He probably called them himself. They're in bowling league together."
