Chapter Thirty - Old Friend

For someone who seemed to be invulnerable, the universe like to remind me that it didn't need humans to mess with me. Whitney helps me sit up.

"I'm fine."

"Lana, go get Clark." i saw that she ran off. The shaking stopped and there was a thud from something upstairs. I got up with a little help from Whitney and jogged up into the loft. Whitney followed with a rake and there was movement. I stopped Whitney from growing further and grabbed a torch. "Kent up here." I saw a one of the tarps shaking like someone was under it. i eased forward

"Mia get back." Clark called but I ignored him etching close enough to removed the arm.

"Argh" I stop Whitney from doing anything

"Whitney no!" i order "I know him." I handed the torch to Clark and crouched down to a terrified looking Earl.

"Earl. Earl it's Mia. What are you doing here?" I wonder softly, he didn't look in good shape.

"I came to see your Dad. He's the only one I can trust."

"He's out of town." i answer then glance back "Clark get my medical kit." he nodded and ran off

"It's okay." he started shaking and i reached out to touch him but it was like a received a sting. I snapped my hand back and glanced down the veins in my hand raised and writhed in pain. Earl began to abnormally convulse and I was pulled back, away from him.

"Whitney, call an ambulance." Clark came back with my medical kit and once Earl calmed down and stomped shaking I listened to his heart

"Obstruction in the airways, seizures, rapid heart beat." I felt his forehead but winced as I did so "High temperature." The EMTs arrived and the intubated him and took him away. Since emergency services were called everyone from the part scarpered

"Mia you need to get checked out as well." Whitney told me

"No, I'm fine. i told you." I shook my head

"You fell down a flight of stairs and hit your head"

"I protected it with my arms." I laid my hand on his arm "Honestly I'm okay. If anything happens I will get checked out but they have to sort out Earl."

Chloe, had taken Clark and i to the hospital where I proceeded to fall asleep, waiting for news. only to be woken up by commotion. Looking around, Chloe and Clark were gone. There were alarms and i ran over to where they were coming from. Clark came crashing through a window and I stated in shock as Earl was having a seizure standing up but it was weird because it wasn't like the ones you see in the medical training videos.

Earl was sedated and we were told to go home, when we entered the house was practically recked and sticky. just a complete mess.

"Great, just great." I stared at my brother and we got to word sped typing around the house till it was as good as we could get it. I let out a breath and there was slow clapping behind us. I turned sharply to see mom and dad at the staircase.

"Hi, you're home early." Clark lamely voiced

"We called six times last night, spoke with six different people none of them knew who you were." Mom retorted and Clark sat down guilty

"It was suppose to be a intimate occasion."

"teenage parties never end up intimate." Dad rebuffed

"Why are you only mad at me, Mia was there as well." he gestured back to me

"Mia, hates parties. I know for a fact, Mia hates any form of social gathering and would have a allergic reaction if the two of you didn't have healing capabilities. I also firmly believe that she would have been trying to end things." Dad raised his voice "am I right?"
