Chapter 31 : Failure

Catras POV

In the next Days, we decided what our next steps would be. Sabrina was staying with the Twins who had offered her a Holiday Mansion they would stay at with her and the red haired Woman accepted.

Adora and I had talked more about what had happened of course and decided that we would take the sisters up on their offer to move into a property their family owned, at least until the Auction was over.

We moved into a seaside Hotel that was actually fairly comfortable even considering that we both would have rather stayed in our Dorm room but the danger from the other day was far too real to risk it.

Said Auction was happening in a week and it started to creep back into my mind a lot more often. Our Plan was to look into a certain Location on the outskirts of Town where Prime is apparently hiding part of his collection though we have no idea what exactly is there.

Today we are on our way to meet Lonnie for the last time before the night of the Auction to go over everything once again. Adora and Lonnie still have their....lets call it issues with each other and i am dreading to get between the two....tho i get Adoras anger and am of course on her side.

As we pull up to the Apartment complex Lonnie calls home, Adora sighs "I really am so not in the mood for this shit". She had classes today, work right after, had to take a shower and eat and now with only an hour to rest we are here so i get why she feel like shit right now

"I know Babe....if you want you can stay in the car and re.."

"As if!" she interrupts me "Like im letting you go there alone with the bitch. She could still be after you....in case you forgot what she done to us"

"Of course i didn't. Lets get this over with fast, go home and cuddle hmm?"

A small smile finally spreads on Adoras face and she nods before leaving the Car.

In the Elevator i'm starting to have a bad feeling about this....like a Spider was crawling on my neck, weaving her Web around it and i could not shake it. Call it instinct or learned precaution but i signal to Adora not to talk and take out my Gun just in case.

We had a talk about my usage of the Firearm and i promised her to only use it if i feel our lives could be in danger. Seeing me take it out leaves little doubt in Adoras mind that something must be wrong and she nods at me. As much as she dislikes it she had to admit that we have little choice but to defend ourselves in a worst case scenario.

When the door opens I spy around the corner to see an empty corridor, barely lit. Moving along slowly, my senses focus on every tiny noise on the floor but i can only hear the usual things you would expect in such a place. A couple fighting, a baby crying, TV noises, someone playing Video Games and normal conversation between people.

Getting closer to the Door we knew to be Lonnies, i hear nothing inside.....as in, no living creature was in there and i'm sure of it. The door is open by a bit and i push it open fully. Inside it's dark but my Eyes can see roughly 60 % in the Dark so that's not a big deterrent here. The real issue is the smell i remember all to well....Blood

"Adora...stay here. I can hear there is no one in there so i'm not in danger but i need you to look out for anyone here just in case" she seems unsure but nods and i slip into the Apartment.

Inside I click the lights on and follow my nose to a living room that looks like a fight took place here. A small pool of Blood was right in the middle of the room, still warm but that's all i can tell from it. I look around more and find a tiny Butterfly knife with blood on the Blade up the handle. A little besides it is another, smaller pool of Blood, that has a very different smell than the one before. Two People got hurt here and not long ago.
