A/N: Just wanted to say Mc's age is 24 at the start of this story, Glenn's 22 and Daryl is 28. Just for context. <3

                              ------

I was on my way out of my department building, heading to lunch. I was the last out since I didn't like the idea of pushing my way out through a large crowd and if i did that, I'd only be left behind and last out anyway.

I had a two hour break and wasn't entirely sure what to do with myself. It was a little too much freetime for me and I was lost as to what exactly I should do with it.

I paused outside my buildings entrance and looked up at the sky, deep in thought, thinking of what exactly I should do to drag out time.

It didn't help that it was hot. Scorching, actually. It was only the beginning of spring, yet it was sweating out because of a heatwave and tropical storm passing our way.

I shielded my eyes from the sun and sighed. I wasn't a big fan of the heat, nor was I a big fan of long breaks. Both were equally unbearable to me.

It was then that a voice brought me out of my thoughts, calling out to me loudly, with a cheerful chirp. So I turned from the sky to look for who was calling and I saw a small figure run towards me.

I narrowed my eyes as I blocked them from the sun to try and determine who it was that was calling out, but the sun's reflection bouncing off the nearby cars hindered my view a little.

Their arms waved as they ran over to me, their backpack bouncing on their back.
"HEYYYY!" They yelled.
They gave me an even more exaggerated wave as they got closer.
"JELLYBEAN!" They screamed as they got closer.
As soon as I heard the nickname, I knew who was running at me and grinned.
"SUNSHINE!" I yelled back and waved.

I walked towards them and met them halfway on the sidewalk, and as soon as I reached them, I gave them a playful glare.

It was Glenn. That cheerful idiot...

What was he doing here? He didn't have classes today and he was also supposed to be at work, delivering pizzas. Usally his free time was time pretty slim, he couldn't exactly just barge in and hangout whenever...

He stopped in front of me, gasping for air, as he rested his hands on his knees, doubled over to catch his breath.

I smirked and nudged him.
"Ya' know, if you didn't yell and run, you wouldn't be out of breath." I joked.
I patted him on the back and he wheezed dramatically, making me laugh.
He waved me off as he gasped.
"Yeah...but...I wanted to catch you before you left." He managed to breath out.
I chuckled and began to walk off, leaving him behind as he struggled to catch up.
"Oh come on, wait a second at least!"

I couldn't help but laugh and paused in place, turning to face him as he dragged himself over to me. I doubted he was still tired, as he was a bit of a drama queen, but nonetheless, I waited for him to catch up.

Once he caught up, I continued to walk, this time with him by my side.

He nodded to my hand.
"How's the tattoo healing?"
I looked to my butterflies and nodded.
"Good. A bit itchy though. It's started to peel."
He hummed.
"You can borrow my moisturiser if you want. You know, that strawberry one?"
He nudged me with a grin.
"The one you always steal behind my back."
I laughed and surrendered.
"Busteddd."
He laughed and shook his head.
"Little thief."

I paused for a moment as I realised something, then looked to him and raised a brow.
"Not got pizzas to deliver?" I asked.
He shook his head.
"Got the day off. Boss' kid got hurt... Bitten..?..Or something I think..?"
I raised a brow even higher and gave him a questioning look.
"Bitten? By a dog? Here? You sure she didn't just get mugged or something?"
He shook his head.
"Some wackjob."
I clicked my tongue and sighed.
"Another one?"
He hummed and nodded his head.
"Attacked his daughter and bit her, I believe." He explained.
He looked to me.
"Least, that's what I was told."
He shook his head and sighed.
"Must've been junked up on something.."
I gave him a displeased look.
"Damn...when the hell are the cops gonna get their shit together?"
I clicked my tongue.
"There's been too much shit going on lately.."
I let out a deep, annoyed breath and shook my head.
"Probably a just junkie. There's been a lot of them lately." I tried to rationalise. Glenn just nodded in agreement.
"Yeah.."
He nudged me and grinned, wiggling his fingers.
"That...or he got rabies." He joked.
I rolled my eyes and nudged him.
"Be serious."
"I am! It could be a possibility!"
"Do you see any rabid dogs around here?"
He grinned evilly and wiggled his fingers in my face.
"What about rabid squirrels?"
I pushed him away with a questioning look and he laughed.
"In the city? What are they gonna eat? People's balls?" I joked.
He snorted.
"What about trash pandas?"
I raised a brow.
"You mean raccoons?"
"Yeah, trash pandas! They dig through the trash, right? So, they could have all kinds of diseases."
"They live in suburbs, not cities."
"Well...there might be one."
"Have you seen one?"
"No..."
I gave him an obvious look.
"Well then, there you go."
I sighed and shook my head.
"If it was rabies, he'd of most likely got it from master splinters or something."
He clicked his fingers together.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about rats."
I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"You forget a lot of things."
He pouted and nudged me.
"Mean."
I shook my head with a smile.
"It was probably just a junky though. I'm sure we would've heard about it on the news by now if it were rabies."
He paused in thought, then nodded.
"I guess you're right. Still, scary to imagine though."
I hummed in agreement.
"Let's just hope your bosses daughter is alright."
