I quickly shrugged my assault rifle off my shoulder as a hellfire of bullets rained down on us at a rapid rate. I tried to peek round the edge of my tree to fire back, but as soon as I moved, a bullet was sent my way.
I frantically looked to the residents who were now a panicked, frenzied crowd running in every which direction, screaming till their lungs gave out, as they were being shot down mercilessly.
I felt my blood run cold as I watched helplessly from the side as the residents were quickly run down with a tsunami of bullets.
My hands shook as I felt my blood drain from my body.
"She's killing her own people..." I mumbled to myself in a daze.
My limbs rattled as I gripped my gun and clenched my jaw.
"She's killing her own fucking people!..."
Glenn heard me and gave me a concerned look.
"Y/n, don't-"
I checked my magazine, then slammed it back together before looking to Glenn with a fire in my eyes.
"No. I can't leave it be this time."I looked to the frenzied crowd to see T-dog, Carol and Dale trying their best to escort them to the bus in the chaos. Carol and Dale sent cover fire from the sidelines, but T-dog was trying his best to help the injured as bullets whizzed past his head.
"Shit...they'll die at this rate..."
I noticed Andrea aim for T and without even thinking, I quickly dove out from cover and ran as fast, and as low, as I could across the road to him.
I heard the others call out to me, but I couldn't stop. My feet were moving faster than my head and I couldn't just sit here and watch family die.
As soon as I darted out from cover, Glenn instantly called for me.
"Y/N, STOP!"
Daryl was the next to yell.
"Y/N GET YER DUMBASS BACK 'ERE RIGHT NOW!"Shortly followed by his yell was was a shield of bullets. Cover fire, sent my way.
I tackled T-dog to the ground just as Andrea had fired her shot.
It cracked through the air like booming thunder, way louder than any of her guards guns.
I felt a searing pain in my temple, followed by a warm, sticky liquid running down my face as I laid on the ground, dazed and my head spinning.
Everything was muffled for a moment and my vision blury, but I could hear people calling my name and I saw T-dog above me, trying to pick me up.
I soon shook off my dazed state and blinked away my blurred vision, then quickly shoved T-dog away as I scrambled to my feet, but layed low, bullets spraying all around us.
I touched my head lightly and felt a graze across my temple, but it wasn't too deep, then again, if it were deep I'd already be dead.
I stared at him with a stern gaze and pointed in the direction of the bus.
"T, I need you to get the bus and get these people out of here."
He shook his head frantically.
"Hell naw! You just got shot!"
"I'm fine."
I gripped his shoulder tightly.
"T, listen to me."
Bullets flew by us as I looked him directly in his eyes, bodies falling all around us.
"I need you to get these people out of here. Take Carol and Dale with you."
"What about the rest of you!?"
"We'll be fine. We planned for a fight, remember?"
"Not like this you didn't."
"T, please, just trust me. If you don't go now, more people will die."
He looked between me and the people dropping like flies around us frantically.
"I.."
He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, reluctantly nodding.
"Okay...alright."
He took a handgun from the back of his jeans and handed it to me.
"Take it, in case you run out."
I nodded and quickly took it, then gave him a serious look.
"The moment I stand, I'm going to cover for you. You move your ass to that bus, got it?"
He nodded and readied himself.
"Got it."
"Good."
I got ready to move and he called out to me.
"And Y/n.."
I gave him one last glance.
"Thank you." He nodded.
I nodded, then leapt to my feet.
"GET GOING, NOW!"
