I had been with the group a couple of days now, and I haven't exactly git in too well. No one spoke to me after my 'storytime' at the campfire, apart from Glenn of course. Carol spoke to me too, as well as Sofia and Carl, but it didn't make me feel any less like an outcast.
The group had told me about how they had come to the farm and their own individual stories, well, everyone except Daryl, Shane and Andrea anyway. I couldn't really complain though, I wasn't expecting them to tell me anything, and really, I didn't care, but I appreciated everyone else for telling me their stories.
I noticed that Rick and a few others were huddled round a truck, looking at a map. Glenn was there too, so I decided to check it out.
Rick traced his finger along the map, the pointed to some area that was marked.
"There's a town nearby...Glenn you've been there before, right? Anything useful there?" Rick asked, looking to Glenn.
Glenn hummed in thought, then nodded.
"Still a few meds in the pharmacy. Haven't checked the other buildings, but it's quiet there, only a few walkers...last I checked anyway..."
Rick nodded, in understanding.I walked up to the group and rested an arm on Glenn's shoulder, making him jump and interrupting their little conversation.
"Oh my god! Don't do that!" He scolded, shaking my arm off in a pout.
"The world's ended and you're scared of little ol' me?" I joked with puppy eyes. He rolled his eyes.
"What's going on here? Thought guns were banned?" I asked pointing to the map and guns.
"None o' your business." Daryl said from beside me.
I couldn't help but send a glare his way.
"I wasn't asking you." I said with a smile.
He grunted and leaned over the hood a little, a scowl on his face, and I did the same.
"An' you ain't involved. So mind yer samn business."
Before I could retort, Glenn pla placed his hand on my shoulder and cleared his throat.
"Play nice." He mumbled.
I clicked my tongue and leaned back.
"Tell the caveman to and I will..." I muttered.
Daryl narrowed his eyes.
"Ya say sonethin'?"
I smiled.
"None of your business." I mimicked.
Before he could say something, Rick interrupted us.
He turned to me.
"Supply run. We're low on a few things." He informed.I leaned closer to the map and checked out the town he circled. It wasn't too far...and it'd be something to do...
I crossed my arms and shrugged.
"If you want volunteers, I'll go." I offered.
Glenn shook his head.
"I said I'd go, besides, you don't know the area."
I rolled my eyes.
"I can handle myself. I've been alone the past couple months and haven't died yet."
I nudged him with a mischievous smile.
"Besides, if I go you can spend some time with-"
"Y/n!" Glenn yelled.
Everyone gave him an odd look and he cleared his throat, looking away a bit embarrassed.
I chuckled and patted his back.
"I'll go. Besides, I need a few things anyway." I justified.
Glenn huffed in defeat.
"You won't back down, will you?"
I grinned at him, resting on his shoulder.
"Nope." I replied, popping the p.
He let out a deep groan and nodded in defeat.
"Alright...just don't do something stupid..."I looked around at everyone else, they didn't seem too keen on going, by the looks on their faces anyway. Not that they seemed too keen on me going either..
Rick looked to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"You sure you want to go?" He asked.
I nodded my head.
"Alright. Who else?" He asked, letting go.
I raised a brow.
"I'm not going by myself?"
Rick chuckled, seeing my shocked expression.
"Glenn's right, you don't know the land. Besides, we always send everyone out in pairs." He justified.
"An' hell as if we'd trust ya on yer own." Daryl added.
I let out an amused breath.
"What am I gonna do? Run off?"
I shook my head.
"I've got my own supplies and weapons, I don't need yours if you think I'm going to steal them."
T-dog shrugged.
"She's got a point there, Dixon."
"Don' mean we can trust 'er."
He scowled at me.
"Fer all we know she's got people out there waitin' te attack this place."
I gave him an unamused look.
"You can't be serious...you're still on this?"
"Ya earn trust. Ya ain't given it."
I let out a deep breath and clicked my tongue.
"You were gonna let Glenn.." I mumbled. Glenn laughed from beside me.
"I'm fast, others slow me down." He explained.
He nudged me with a mischievous smile.
"And I'm not the new stranger."
I grumbled and nudged him back.
"So annoying..."
