Rick drew his revolver fast and shot Dave straight in the head, making his body fall limp, making the bullet stray off course. Luckily, the bullet only grazed my cheek and hurt no one else. Daves blood splattered on the mirror behind the bar.
I saw Tony go for his shotgun and I quickly drew my revolver and shot him before he could draw on Rick. I wasn't the best shot with a gun, but I still hit my target. I shot him in the chest, making him fire his shotgun into the ceiling, then slump over dead. I walked over to his corpse and shot his head before he turned. I looked over to Rick and he gave me a thank you nod.
It went dead silent in the bar. Hershel looked displeased that we had killed two people and Glenn was clutching his shotgun in shock.
Tony's body slumped to the floor and Rick and Hershel stood before it. Glenn stood from the table and stood beside me.
"We need to leave. Walkers might have heard the shots." Rick says.
"Or their friends show up." I added.
Glenn elbowed me.
"Hershel. Let's go." Rick said.
Hershel nodded slowly.
"Let's get back" He said softly.
"The trucks just out front" Glenn said.
Hershel nodded and said a prayer over the bodies.I looked out the window, checking for walkers when I saw two figures approach the bar. They were people. Armed people. I whistled, getting Rick, Hershel and Glenn's attention. I ducked below the window and motioned to lay low.
Rick crouched over to me and went to the opposite window, peeking out of it.
Glenn and Hershel stayed by the bar.
"What's wrong?" Glenn whispered.
"More men" Rick answered, readying his gun.
"Friends of theirs I'm guessing. Probably heard the gunfire." I added.Just then, there was knocking on the glass. We all stayed quiet and out of sight. Glenn and Hershel shuffled a little and accidentally stood on some broken glass.
"You dead in there?...Or live ones?" A man called out, his figure leaning on the glass. His friend banged on the glass.
"We know you're in there."
I looked over to Rick who held his finger to his lips, I nodded.
"Look, we're just looking for our friends. You seen them? Skinny guy and a scruffy looking chubby man?"I heard Glenn curse. I turned to look at him.
"Fuck, that was their friends" He whispered.
"Calm down, son." Hershel whispered.
"Glenn, we're fine." I comforted.
He nodded his head and I turned back to Rick.
The men kept banging on the glass.
"We heard shots from here. Was it you?"
"Rick, we need to say something.." I said.
He nodded his head and held his revolver close. We all stayed low. I checked the bullets in my revolver. I had four in the chamber and a few spares in my pocket.
"They fired on us." Rick called out.
There was silence for a few seconds.
"They dead?"
"Yes."
"You killed them?"
The men sounded a little enraged.
"They fired first. It was defense" I called.
We heard muttering and bickering from the outside.
"We don't want any trouble-"Rick was cut off by bullets flying through the windows.
"Glenn, get down!" I yelled.
Glenn ducked behind the bar, taking Hershel with him.
The men's fire continued. Bullets flew through the window, shattering glass and leaving bullet holes everywhere.Rick had a shoot down with the guy on his side, so we both took on one guy each and Glenn protected Hershel behind the bar. Bullets were flying everywhere.
I tried to peek out the window, but immediately had a shotgun aimed at my head. I ducked back down quickly, the shot shattering the glass, the fragments grazing my face. The man tried to reach through the window to get me but I got my knife out and stabbed his hand, pinning it to the wall and smashed his arm into the broken shards of glass.
