We ventured back into the dark hallways, deciding to cover the west side of the prison first.

I shone my torch down the hallway, not seeing much except the bland prison walls. I nudged Daryl as we walked.
"Must be a familiar sight, huh?"
He groaned.
"Tha' wha' ya think o' me?"
Rick snorted, earning him a glare from Daryl and I chuckled.
"What? You're telling me, you, with your hot temper, have never been behind bars?"
"She has a point." Rick added.
Daryl grumbled.
"I ain't never done shit. Merle on the other hand? Bastard practically lived behind bars."

Daryl had mentioned his brother a lot to me when we spoke. Surprisingly, contrast to his cold appearance, he was actually very fond of those close to him. Family especially.

"Doesn't suprise me." Rick sighed.
I snorted.
"Must be a Dixon gene."
Daryl flicked the back of my head.
"Shut ya trap an' keep ya eye on the hallway."
I dramatically latched onto Rick and pouted.
"Rickkk. Daryl hit me!"
Rick chuckled and nudged me off.
"Behave. Both of you."
I clicked my tongue and focused on the hallway.
"Favouritism."
Rick chuckled a scoff.
"How!?"
I shrugged as I took out a walker that turned the corner.
"I dunno. Just is."
"Right..."

We walked on for a little longer, killing a few walkers that lurked in the halls, and double tapping the "presumed" dead ones, just in case.

"This place is huge...are we going to find the cafeteria before dusk?" I sighed.
Daryl grumbled in agreement.
"We gotta try."
I paused for a moment, then turned to Rick.
"You were a cop, right, Rick?"
He looked over his shoulder to me.
"Yeah. I was. Not in a prison though."
Daryl grumbled.
"Figures."
I elbowed him, making him grunt.
"Ever have any cool cases? Prison worthy ones?"
He thought for a moment.
"Not really. Only the one."
"What was that case about?"
Rick sighed.
"Grand theft auto. Had to chase the theives for miles till we managed to stop them. When we did, they came out shootin'. I got shot in the crossfire."
"Then what?"
He shook his head.
"Don't know. I got shot, went into a coma, and by the time I woke up, the world was like this."
"Oh..sorry."
"No need. It's the past. Besides, you couldn't have known."
"Least you got a cool story out of it."
He chuckled.
"I guess."
"How's gettin' shot a cool story?" Daryl asked.
"Well, it's heroic. Chasing robbers and whatnot."
"It was 'is job."
I glared at Daryl.
"You know, sometimes, you are such a party pooper."
He grumbled and clicked his tongue.
"Whatever."

Eventually, we managed to find some signs on the walls directing us to the cafeteria, so we followed them. Oddly enough, there weren't too many walkers about, just a small handful. I suppose the majority really had been in the courtyard.

When we got to the door, Rick pushed me back, preventing me from opening it.
"Rick.." I whined.
"No."
"Why.."
"Ya know why dumbass." Daryl butted in.
"I wasn't asking you, Dickie."
"Yea', well I answered."
Rick knocked on the door, and some shuffling was heard inside.
"Tha's why ya weren't allowed. Ya'd get yaself killed."
"I lived earlier, didn't I?"
He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"You did, but it was reckless." Rick scolded.
"You're both no fun."
Rick tried to open the door, but it was jammed.
"Ere' let me try." Daryl offered.
Rick moved and let Daryl take over.
Daryl tried to push it, when that didn't work, he kicked it, and when that didn't work, he barged into it.
"You tell that door, Dickie." I said sarcastically.
He scoffed and turned to me.
"If yer so good, you open it then."
I shrugged and pushed the two men aside.
"Make way, ladies."
He scoffed and Rick chuckled.
"Bet she won' even be able te shake it." He mumbled to Rick.
I ignored him and scanned the door carefully.
"Ye gonna open it or wha'?"
I ignored him and began to measure the door.
"Hell are ya doin'? Askin' it fer pictures?"
Rick snorted and I heard him hit Daryl.
"Leave her be."
He just grumbled.
"Well we ain't got-"
