When I got to the barn I noticed Daryl walking out with bloodied knuckles. He was about to lock up until he heard me approach and stopped what he was doing.
"Get anything out of him?" I called.
Daryl smirked.
"You'll be owing me arrows"
I scoffed and walked closer.
"Oh, yeah?"
"Kids name is Randall. His groups got about thirty men...thirty disgusting men."
I nodded my head, an impressed look on my face.
"Not bad...but we can do better."
He scoffed and pulled the chain off the barns doors, then held the door open for me.
"Go'on then...I'd love to see you try."
I nudged him as I walked into the barn.
"Better prepare your crossbow."I walked into the barn, Daryl following me, closing the doors behind us. I saw the kid, Randall, slumped over on the ground. He was tied up from head to toe and chained to the ground, so he couldn't move. He was covered in bruises and cuts, he was practically beaten blue and looked like a bloody mess.
Daryl filled me in on what he had found out about Randall. He said that his group killed people and what they did to women...they'd wish they were dead. Despite all that, both him and Rick weren't entirely sure if he was dangerous himself. They didn't know whether he had killed anyone himself or not.
"Damn, Daryl. You really..."
"Well he spoke didn't he?"
Randall looked up, hearing our voices and began to beg and plead.
"No, no....I already told you, man...I don't mean no harm! Those guys were the assholes...please.."
Daryl grunted and leaned against a wooden pillar.
"All yours." Daryl gestured.Randall looked to me as I walked over to him and stood in front of him.
"Oh, thank god...he's not...you gotta let me go, miss. I swear you'll never see me again."
I crouched down in front of him and looked him in his eyes.
"You swear?" I repeated.
He nodded rapidly.
"Yeah, yeah! You'll never see me again!"
I scanned his eyes.
"And your group?"
"Man, screw them! They left me for dead! Do you really think I'd go back?"I scanned his face carefully. He seemed scared, but there was something in his eyes, a little twinkle that seemed out of place. He was happy that I "believed" him, that he could reel me in. He was lying. His eyes darted from me, to the ground, then back to me. He was definitely lying.
I smiled at him and spoke softly.
"You promise? You've got a lot of people scared."
The twinkle in his eyes got brighter.
"Yes, yes! I promise!"
He tried to wiggle closer to me. I took that opportunity and leaned close, whispering in his ear.
"I know you're lying, Randall."
He bolted backwards so fast that he hit the wall.
"No, no...I'm not! I swear!"
The twinkle in his eyes disappeared.I leaned over him and smiled.
"I know what you've done, Randall."
His eyes widened and he shook his head.
"No..no...I...I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't done anything."
I shook my head and looked deep into his eyes, which seemed to unsettle him.
"No. I know exactly what you've done. All those lives you took..."
I leaned closer and he tried looking away, but I didn't let him.
"Did they deserve it, Randall? Did those girls deserve it?"Randall darted his eyes all over the place. He looked everywhere, anywhere, except for at me. He seemed panicked, like I knew something I shouldn't know, like he had something to hide...
I smiled at him sweetly.
"Randall...you want us to let you go...but did you let those girls go? Did you spare those people you had killed?"
He shook his head in panic.
"No, no, no...I didn't...I didn't...I never killed anyone I swear"
I chuckled and brushed some hair out of his face.
"We both know that's a lie..."
I took my hand away and leaned closer.
"I saw it, Randall. They screamed and cried. They begged too, didn't they?"
He began to sob.
"No, no, no.....no..no..."
"Yes. They begged and pleaded, didn't they? Did you listen to them? Did you spare them?"
