Before I even got to the gate, I realised from a distance that Andrea was already waiting there. To my suprise, she was completely alone, though I knew better than to just trust my eyes, afterall, appearances could be deceiving...
Rick caught up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder with a serious look.
"Are you ready for this?"
I nodded a hum.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
He nodded and looked to Andrea.
"Let's see what our old friend wants.."
I let out a single laugh.
"Friend is putting it loosely..."
He rolled his eyes with a smile and pushed me forward, following along behind me.
"An old acquaintance then."
I nodded in approval as we approached the fence.
"That's more accurate."
He gave me a serious look.
"Remember what I told you?"
"Yes."
He nodded and guided me as we walked.
"Just try not to be too outspoken..."
"Yes'sir."We stopped by the fence, in front of Andrea. When she saw us, she seemed a little suprised at first, but her suprise soon faded and she put on more of a pokerface.
She looked exactly the same as she had before she got separated from the group...when the farm got overrun...
The only difference that there appeared to be, was that her hair was longer and she looked a little more well fed and looked after. I guess Woodbury was a good place to live...for her at least. She nodded us a greeting and approached the fence a little more.
"Rick, Y/n...Nice to see you again."
Rick and I both nodded.
"The same goes to you, Andrea. I'm glad you're alright." Rick replied.
"Everyone was worried when you never came back." I added.
She offered a smile.
"You can tell them not to worry. I'm quite fine now. I'm sure you've heard from Maggie and Michonne, but I'm the leader of a community called Woodbury now..."
She looked between both Rick and I.
"Have you heard of it? We're quite close by, maybe a couple miles out?"
Rick and I exchanged a glance, then he looked back to Andrea and shook his head.
"I can't say we are. We've mostly kept to ourselves."
I was silent for a moment, then reluctantly nodded, following Rick's lead.
"We only just found this place a while back. We've been focusing on fixing it up so, we haven't actually explored too far out.."
She hummed in thought.
"Well, we're not too far from a town with a superstore a couple miles south from here..."
She looked to Rick.
"It's not got much left in it, besides some things for babies, like baby formula and whatnot...stuff that'll be useful for you and Lori."
She paused for a moment.
"I'm sure Lori has given birth by now right? How is she? How's the baby?"
Rick went silent, a pained look on his face.I could tell by his silence alone that he was in pain. He had never quite been the same since Lori died, and who could blame him? He had lost his wife...
I decided to speak up and change the topic to prevent him from having to explain what had happened. Things were painful enough for him without having to relive the memory that was still fresh in his mind.
I rested my hands on my hips and cleared my throat, then looked to Andrea.
"You said you wanted to see Rick and I? What for? How can we help?"
She looked to me and offered a smile.
"I said I'd like to see you or Rick, depending on who I could get hold of."
I nodded.
"I see. Well, you've got both of us now."
Rick managed to regain himself and nodded.
"Though, before you ask anything...I'd like to ask something myself."
Andrea nodded.
"Of course, you can ask anything."
He rested his hands on his hips, then tilted his head.
"How exactly did you know where to find us?"
Andrea was silent for a moment, then smiled.
"I supposed I should've expected such a question.."
She paused for a second, then looked to Rick with a sweet smile on her face.
"You can never be too careful."
"So how did you know?" I interrupted.
"The usual way you'd find anywhere of note."
She shrugged and gestured to the prison.
"I sent a couple scouts out on a run and they reported back about this place, saying that a group was staying here."
She looked between Rick and I.
"The people they described sounded awfully familiar, so I decided to check for myself."
"That's when you met Maggie?" Rick asked.
"No, I scouted from afar at first, just to be sure. Then once I knew it was you guys, I spoke to her another time."
I raised a brow.
"So you were watching us?" I asked.
She gave me an amused look and shook her head.
"Of course not, once I checked the place out and saw it was you guys, I immediately left."
Rick was silent for a moment, deep in thought.
"Have I satisfied your curiosity?" She asked.
Rick nodded.
"For the time being."
I hummed and crossed my arms.
"Perhaps we can all have a little get together and catch up sometime in the future. .."
She flashed us a smile.
"I'd love nothing more."
