It was raining outside. A drizzle rattled the room windows; you looked out from the window to see the rain clouds, listening to the steady patter of the raindrops against the glass. 'The rainy season is here is putting a damper on things.' You thought to yourself.
You were at the Butterfly Mansion, helping Shinobu with putting some medicine that Shinobu made cleaning around the mansion. You were walking to the kitchen when you felt a dull pain in your stomach. 'That weird...Did I pull a muscle?' you thought to yourself. It then occurred to you, 'I hadn't had my period in a while...' you thought to yourself.
You quickly speed-walked to the room where your gym drawstring bag, pulled your phone from your bag and turned on your phone. You opened the calendar app to see that you missed your period nearly six weeks ago. You couldn't be. Is it possible that you were pregnant? Then it occurred to you that you ran out of the medication your doctor prescribed. When you went to the Demon Slayer world about two weeks before your period was supposed to happen, you ran out of medicine that your doctor prescribed. It just so happened to be the day you had intercourse with Giyuu.
Your heart started racing as you rushed to find Shinobu checking all medicines she had made. "Shinobu, I need your help," you asked, your voice trembling. She turned to face you, her expression curious. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"I...I think I might be pregnant," you said, barely able to get the words out. Shinobu's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly recovered. "Let me run some tests just to make sure of it," she said firmly.
Shinobu spent the next hour testing you using blood samples, and they came positive when the results came back. Shinobu sat in the chair, looking at the results. She had to double-check that the results were correct.
" So what are my results," you asked nervously.
"It...it is positive; the results came back positive," Shinobu said with a grimacing tone.
You were in shock. You thought you had enough birth control to last you for a while. You never expected to become pregnant, especially not in a world filled with demons and death.
You knew the risks, though you were quite terrified because you knew that complications could bubble up also. Now you were a high prize for the demons, and it wasn't like you were living in modern times anymore.
Shinobu could sense your anxiety, so she gently touched your shoulder. "Don't worry, Y/n. We'll figure this out together. I'll make sure to monitor your health closely throughout your pregnancy," she said, trying to offer you some comfort.
You nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. Knowing that Shinobu would be there to guide you through this pregnancy made you feel more secure. Abortion was near impossible because would a high chance that you die from having an abortion. You still couldn't believe you were pregnant, but you knew you had to face this head-on.
But as the reality of the situation set in, you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. How were you going to tell Giyuu? How would he react to this? You knew you could not keep him in the dark but were unsure how he would take the news. You took a deep breath and decided to tell him as soon as possible.
You knew it wouldn't be an easy conversation, but it was a conversation that needed to happen. The next day, you went to find Giyuu. Eventually, you found him; Giyuu was practicing his swordsmanship outside of his house in the practicing area. You called out his name, and he turned to face you, his expression softening when he saw the look on your face.
"Is everything okay, Y/n?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
You took a deep breath, summoning all your courage. "Giyuu...I have something to tell you," you said hesitantly.
He nodded, his eyes on you.
"I'm pregnant," you said finally, watching his face shift from surprise to disbelief.
"Pregnant? You're sure?" he stuttered, his eyes wide.
You nodded and explained the situation, telling him you ran out of medication two weeks ago when you had intercourse.
Giyuu's expression softened as he listened to you, understanding flooding his features. "Y/n...I...I don't know what to say," he said finally.
You could see the fear in his eyes, and your heart ached for him. "I know this is a lot to take in, but I promise you, we'll get through this together," you said, reaching out to take his hand.
Giyuu hesitated momentarily before taking your hand and pulling you closer to him. "I'm scared, Y/n," he whispered, his voice trembling. "I'm scared for you and for our child."
You could feel the weight of his words, and tears prickled at the corners of your eyes. This was not the reaction you were expecting, but you understood where he came from.
"I know, Giyuu. I'm scared, too," you said softly. "But we'll face this together. We'll make sure that our child is safe and happy. And we'll ensure we're there for each other every step of the way."
Giyuu nodded, his expression softening as he looked at you. "You're right, Y/n. We'll do this together. We'll ensure our child is loved and cared for, no matter what."
You could feel the tension leaving your body as you and Giyuu held each other. You knew this would not be an easy journey, but with Giyuu by your side, you felt like you could conquer anything. You had each other, and that was enough.
But as the days passed, you couldn't help the feeling of something coming. You knew that being pregnant in a world filled with demons and danger would be challenging. You had to prepare yourself for what was to come in the future.
