The streets Eddie drove through were dark and appeared to host few homes. There were certainly no street lamps. If this were a first date with a stranger, you knew that alarm bells would be ringing off the hook. But, when you looked at his face and saw his mouth set in a small smile with his ringed fingers drumming along with the music, you knew you had nothing to fear. His right hand played with yours, and he fingered over the rings on your hand. "So, who is this friend that has a house on the lake," you spoke, trying to diffuse any nerves from both yourself and him.

"Rick. He, umm, well he and I have worked together on a few things before. And he doesn't mind if I park and use his dock," he answered and avoided your gaze. You frowned.

"Did you work on his car or something?" His caginess about answering you was increasing your curiosity.

Eddie let go of your hand to run his fingers through his hair. "Something like that," he mumbled.

Feeling a sense of unease, you continued your questioning. "Is this where you bring all the girls?" That had come out a little harsh, but you would be lying if the thought of Eddie with someone else didn't spark a surge of jealousy within you. You would be lying to yourself if you weren't already developing feelings for him, and it was hard to think of him being someone else, which was highly ironic considering that up to several days ago, you yourself were in a relationship. You spoke again, "sorry, that was harsh. I just—"

"You're just jealous, aren't 'cha?" he fired back and chuckled. You blushed at his accuracy. "To be fair, I've never brought a girl here. I was brought by a girl here, but I never did the bringing."

"Oh," you replied and were unsure of where to go from here. "What it your ex?"

"Uhh, kind of. It was never really anything official. She just had a car and wanted to know what life was like on the other side of the tracks," he said. You just nodded. You wanted to know more about his history and especially who this voyeur who had driving Eddie around might be, but he was slowing down and pulling into a long driveway. His tone had definitely shifted with your line of questioning, and you felt a sense of awkwardness and anxiety start to pervade the atmosphere. He parked and turned the van off before leaning into the back seat and plopping a large flannel blanket in your lap. "Hold that please, my lady," he added and sprang from his seat. He cam around the other side of the van and opened your door. He still held out his hand to help you down, so you figured you hadn't completely ruined the evening.

When you slipped down from the high seat, you felt your skirt pull up, so as you landed on the ground, Eddie had a full view of your backside. You reached behind to pull it down and adjust it. When you looked up, you saw him staring at you with pure desire shining in his eyes. In the dark, his eyes seemed darker and far more intense than they had in the bright lights of the diner. He bent down and helped you right your skirt before pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek. "If you need to stop, at any point, just tell me, okay Sunshine?" he spoke directly into your ear.
