"You didn't say that you would be skipping the whole day to work on my car and stand up your tutor, so she doesn't get her service hours," you retorted.

"Wait, you're my English tutor," he asked shocked and confused. "Fuck, I didn't realize. I'm sorry, Sunshine. I just really wanted to get your car fixed."

You sighed and leaned against the car. "Yes Eddie, I'm your English tutor. And while Dustin showed and put in his time for Latin, you stood me up." His head lowered, and his arms wrapped around himself.

"I didn't realize. I just assumed that it was some nerd who got stuck with my lame ass," he murmured into his crossed arms.

"Yea, well, I am that nerd. And, according to Ms. Kelly, I am indeed stuck with your lame ass, so you better show up next week. And to class. I am not catching you up on shit that you probably know if you read as much as you say you do," you told him. "Now, let's go. I'm hungry, and I'm guessing I need to drive you to your van."

"No, we can just home. I had my uncle drop me off," he explained. His voice was much quieter and reserved than you had heard before. You nodded, and he opened the driver side door for you. Ever the gentleman. Shaking your head, you got in and started the car. There were no weird noises or funny grinding sounds.

"Wow, you really did fix it. What was wrong with it," you inquired and began to leave the school lot.

"Dead battery and you had a few belts that were worn in. I'm guessing that whoever you bought this from has had it sitting for a while," he explained. His voice was still soft and chastised.

"I think Robin's dad thought that she would drive it, but she doesn't drive, so it's been sitting around since she turned sixteen," you said. "How much do I owe you?"

He shook his head. "Don't worry about it."

"Eddie, I can't not pay you for your labor. I'm guessing it took a while, and batteries are not cheap," you told him. You avoided looking at his face because you didn't want to see his dejection. You might have been a little harsh with him about the tutoring thing, but you weren't going to let other people take advantage of your time.

"I guess fifty should cover it," he mumbled out. You nodded, but you knew that it was at least double that.

"I've got cash at home that I'll give you." He nodded in response, and with that you found yourself pulling up to your house.

Turning off the car, you reached to grab your bag when he stopped you with his hand on your arm. "Y/N, I'm really sorry that I stood you up. I honestly wasn't thinking. I'll be there next week. And in class tomorrow. But I think you should also come to Hellfire Club."

"What is Hellfire Club?" you asked, frowning at him.

"Dungeons and Dragons. I'm the Dungeon Master, and I think you would really enjoy it. You can take out your rage on me," he grinned at you. You raised your eyebrows.
