Alexander was already downstairs in the dining room before any of the other family members were, but he couldn't help but find it quite odd to be alone since his father was always straight on time especially with dinner.
That was until he heard a chorus of footsteps walking towards the entrance and his eyes glided across the room until they landed on his mother entering soon followed by his father and some thing he didn't expect to see was a little Rosalie rested in his arms so look of content on her little face.
Jealousy
anger
hurtall these emotions flashed through his body causing him to avert his gaze back down to the table and clench his fists together tightly grunting quietly in pain as it seared through his poorly re wrapped and untreated opened wounds from his little burst earlier.
His gaze stayed averted even when Rosalie was sat in the chair beside him and both his parents had taken a seat. Her drawing left on a side table behind them to avoid any mess.
Alexander's eyes only glanced away from the tables fine wood to look towards a maid that dragged a new chair over and watched as the pink bear and bunny got rested beside his sister.
'She likes it so much...I'm glad'
He thought to himself before his eyes lazily snapped up to the sound of plates being put down and his father clearing his throat.
"Rosalie do your toys really need to be at the table?" He questioned, his eyes narrowed slightly and pinned on the girl.
"Uh huh, can't sit alone cuz they will be sad silly!" Rosalie responds with no problem, no fear, no worry of her tone she just responds.
"Mm i see, you're right little Rosalie..." Anthony says not wanting to go about a childish argument with his daughter on some toys. In his state of mild embarrassment his eyes wonder over to his son who wouldn't dare to speak to him the way his darling girl would so he decided to redirect his newly found annoyance.
"Alexander, I saw things went well at the mall today. I'm sure I hadn't missed anything, correct?" Anthony spoke out, his hands occupied with picking up his cutlery.
"Yes father, everything went well. We got most of Rosalie's things."
"Most?" He said with a slower tone, almost as if egging his son to challenge him.
"Yes, Rosalie got overwhelmed by the press, and far too tired before we could gather it all. I thought it was best we come home earlier then planned." Alexander lied , eyes burning in to the matching ones of his fathers.
Rosalie heard her name and was trying to keep up with the conversation.. "but Alex I - "
the girl hesitated with her own words, she knew he was lying but he must have a good reason.Did he not want her to get in trouble?
no.
Was he protecting her?
them both .when she opened her mouth to keep speaking again she was stopped by a glass of juice being placed in front of her causing a smile to spread on her face and her mouth to be occupied with thanking the maid. Thoughts of going against her brothers word quickly forgotten.
Alexander let out a soft sigh of relief, however didn't miss the knowing look his mother gave him as if she already knew he was lying. Though decided to shake it off and focus on the meal in front of him.
As he picked his fork up to stab in to the glorious meal he couldn't help but look to his sister to watch her messily stuff her food in to her mouth.. she ate like an animal and yet had no percussions when doing so.
