Rosalie's pov:

It had been at least an hour past of no one else but Elijah and I. It was wonderful, pure heaven if I've ever experienced. Alexander, my dearest big brother not a thought on my mind for the entirety of our time spent throughout the garden.
Nothing but a giddy and fuzzy feeling within every inch of my body throughout the entirety of our stroll. Our hands suddenly bumping in to one another, his sudden jokes and kind smile that seemed to be reserved for certain people given to me. He was so hypnotizing.

Throughout our time together he had been nothing but kind since our reintroduction. He had listened to my endless rants on flowers and the hate for mathematics I have.. he was perfect in his responses and laughed according to.

It was.. well, it was wonderful to say the least. No one ever really listens to me.

Now I couldn't help but hold gently on to the sleeve of his clothing as he lead us back to the main mansion. His eyes catching mine every few seconds and seemingly softening when I nervously smile up to him.

By the amount he stared at me you'd think I have stuff all over my face.. I don't think I do? But it's nice either way. To receive such a gentle touch, kind words and be free in my speaking. It's an intoxicating feeling I greedily want more of.

Upon our arrival to the back door once more I couldn't help but drop my grip and hurry towards Aubree who seemed to be staring at Elijah with what looked like confusion. Though I didn't think much of it because within a second of being near her she had yanked me in to a bone crushing hug. This hug caused a giggle to escape my lips and my hands to return around her body before pulling back.

Catching her eye I quickly averted my gaze towards the ground, my fingers becoming rather interesting as I pulled and scratched at them. Reality came crashing back down in seconds.

"You were gone for so long we went on a walk.. I'm sorry we didn't wait for you..!"  My voice came out in a squeak and hesitant. I hadn't even thought about Aubree since Elijah showed me the gardens depths.. I felt guilty.. would punishment await here as it did at home?
   Like daddy's?
   Like Alexander's?
Maybe she would punish like mamma.. those weren't so bad..

"Oh my gosh! Rosalie you're just the cutest! It's okay, I have the chance to see the gardens all the time so I'm happy you got the chance to experience them. Our mother is a real fairy when it comes to nature!" Aubree's voice was pure and gentle, though still squealed in excitement when speaking. My gaze had never snapped up so fast.

Huh?

No impact? No rude words? No underlying tone? She really didn't mind at all?

Really?
'Why? I was a bad girl. leaving her to have fun with Elijah and not her..we ditched her.. didn't we?'

My mind felt like it was being over flowed with confusion and not once stopped until the feeling of a hand patting my head caused my eyes to slowly cast upwards to meet Elijahs gentle gaze.
  "It's really alright Rosalie, she doesn't mind at all."  his voice had my cheeks heating. It was so monotone, contrast to the way it was before, and yet still soft?

"If you say so... though-"
A shrill voice cut off my sentence, though, I really couldn't pout because what I saw next had the three of us, Aubree, Elijah and myself bursting in to a fit of laughter... well Aubree and I.

Valerie ran out the back door past us covered in what looked to be flour and god knows what else. Mr. Jack chasing after her, not looking too clean himself holding a handful of white powder. The two laughing and yelling at one another for a truce before collapsing in to one another's arms.. the loving moment only lasted for so long before Mr. Jack lifted his closed fist and dropped the powder on to Valerie's head in one swift movement before booking it back inside the house.
