"Say kepa?" Aemond eagerly awaited for a response as he continued to prompt words "kepa~"
A stream of adorable giggles followed before Aemond almost had to hear the same word he'd been hearing all morning.
"M.. mhmm.. m"
"No no no" Aemond chuckled "kepa, ke-pa"
"M..mu-ña"
Eirlys covered her mouth as she chortled, unable to stifle any more of her giggles that she'd been doing for the past hour.
"Oh you find this amusing, do you" Aemond raised a brow before turning to the person he was talking to previously:
His one year old daughter, Scyllŷra
[pronounced- sky•li•ra]Her name was a combination of the words Llyr and Scylla.
Llyr meant 'from the sea'.
Aemond was a dragon; fire
Eirlys, Snowdrop. When fire meets snow, you're left with water.
Scylla was an ancient water goddess that existed within the pages of old folklore. Eirlys had read about it in the book Daeron had gifted her.
Both Aemond's and Eirlys' respective parents loved the name Scyllŷra but they all called her by a nickname Helaena had begun to use first: Lyra.
Aegon did not care for such thought put into his niece's name. He had suggested naming her after himself.
"Aegon is just as suitable for a princess as it is for a prince" he'd told them "she will thank you both when she's older"
The couple were presently in their daughter's nursery.
The young princess had begun to speak a few words, some of meaning and some incoherent.
Earlier that day she'd said 'muña' which meant mother and Aemond had taken it upon himself to teach her to call him father; kepa.
So far, his daughter was making this quiet difficult for him and in turn, entertaining for his wife.
"You see that ñuha perzys?" (my flame) he pointed toward Eirlys "your mother finds it funny. Please don't give her that satisfaction. Say kepa and I'll let you fly Vhagar with me"
"No, you will not" Eirlys shut the book she was reading "our daughter will ride a dragon of her own when the egg has hatched"
"Vhagar is gentle" Aemond scooped his daughter up into his arms as he made his way over to the couch by the fireplace to sit next to Eirlys "you would know, I took you riding atop her a few a years before Lyra. Though, I suppose you were busy riding my fingers more than the dragon"
"Aemond!" Eirlys sounded shocked "not in the presence of our daughter"
"She can't understand us yet" the prince laughed at the reaction he'd gained from his wife "I am surprised our perzys has a name, the sword I gave you at your eight and tenth name day is still without one"
"I'm still thinking" Eirlys simply told him as she put away her book to take Lyra from his arms.
The little girl raised her tiny hands toward her mother and leaned forward, signaling her eagers to be held by Eirlys.
Eirlys placed a gentle kiss on her daughter's forehead as she held her close and softly patted her back. Aemond too leaned closer and rested his head in her lap.
Eirlys smiled fondly at him before she reached down to stroke his long silken hair, still as white as pearls.
Aemond smiled as he placed a kiss on her belly.
