Aemoned walked toward her, and Eirlys immediately raised her sword, stained scarlet with the blood of the many she'd killed.

He swung his blade at her, not fatalistically like how he normally would, but enough for her to easily block the attack.

He couldn't bring himself to fight her like how he'd been fighting the rest. He'd rather she just kill him if it came down to such a heated dual.

"I did not let you escape just so you could circle back and join this mess" he swung again.

"Did you really think I would stand down and do nothing?" she dodged it and took a step forward to swing at him, knowing he would block.

"What of Lyra?" he questioned, "what will happen to her if both of us do not leave out of this with our lives?"

Their swords clanged upon the collision and they both drew closer and closer until their swords were pressed against each other's necks.

Both froze, gazing into each others eyes, panting as each one refused to make their next move.

"Go ahead" Aemond's voice had an undertone of sadness to it "you know I won't hurt you, might as well get it done with"

Eirlys gently pushed him away. Did he really think she was capable of driving her sword through him?

She didn't want this, a situation that put her and her husband at each other's throats; quiet literally.

Amidst all the bloodshed and madness unfurling, Eirlys was quick to spot her brother Jace in the distance and Sunfyre, who'd swooped over her and was heading straight toward her brother, jaws agape.

"Jace!" she yelled, though she wasn't sure he'd heard her.

If by some miracle he had heard or perhaps he just saw the dragon approaching at the last second, either way, he quickly jumped out of the way moments before fire spewed from its mouth.

The dragon did not seem to want to give up on its chase and circled back.

Aemond broke into a run, calling for Vhagar who was flying dangerously low to the grounds. The prince was surprised that the large beast came to his aid after a few calls, flying over her rider, casting a dark shadow over the area she was gliding above.

Eirlys continued to fight, despite her mind wandering back to her brother and Aemond, who had gone to his aid. Her attention quickly shifted to something else entirely when she saw someone familiar in the chaos.

She struggled to get to him, having to stab two men in the process before she was close enough for him to take notice of her.

"Lord Borros" she called out as she watched his eyes widen.

He wasn't scared of her, no he was simply surprised to see her here among all these men fighting. He did not think she could fight so it surprised him to see her still alive despite the battle beginning a while ago.

Eirlys was the first to strike, a blow that the older man managed to dodge.

His footwork was sloppy, Eirlys thought to herself as she continued to attack, not giving him any time to plan his next move nor analyse hers.

He grunted in frustration and recklessly slashed his sword, managing to slice her upper arm, deep but not fatalistic.

She wince in pain before spinning and stepping behind him, managing to slice the back of his calves, bringing him to his knees as he yelped in pain.

"I swore, didn't I? That you would die by my sword" she scoffed at him before she brought down her sword and plunged it through his neck as he coughed up blood before his body hit the ground, limp.

Eirlys breathed a sigh as she drew back her blade and looked down at it, covered in blood.

"kivio morgho"(promise of death) she soflt spoke, finally finding a name for it.

Aemond, who was still trying to catch up to Jace and Synfyre, did not care if Jacaerys died, not one bit. But he knew the pain Eirlys had felt the last time she had been told of her brother's demise and he did not want her to go through all of it again. For her sake, he would defend the life of this brat, just this once.

Otto's attention shifted toward Aemond and Vhagar, who was flying too low for his liking.

He watched as Aemond stood before Jace the moment Sunfyre landed with a loud roar. Vhagar was quick to shield Aemond away from the other dragon by putting herself in between them and snarling at Sunfyre.

Jace was taken aback by Aemond coming to his defence, he thought that perhaps the one-eyed prince was after him with Vhagar. The boy was stunned to find both Aemond and Vhagar proceed to shield him away from Aegon's dragon.

Otto knew without Vhagar attacking from their side, this battle was as good as lost and with the kids all rushing to each other's aid instead of actually fighting, it just defeated the entire purpose of this.

Rhaenyra too noticed Vhagar shielding the boys away from Sunfyre, it was hard not to miss such a large dragon. She wondered why Aemond would rush to Jace's aid. Did Eirlys play a part in this?

"Fall back!" Otto yelled to his men "fall back and ring the bells!"

The men fighting on his side all ran back toward the city walls, some yelling up to the archers atop those walls to ring the bells.

The bells were run to signal that the city had surrendered.

Inside the city, pure havoc broke loose when Daemon brought down hell with Caraxes to the Redkeep.

Screams arose from the townfolk out of fear.

He did not burn down the homes of the common folk but he did not hold back when it came to the castle and the sept.

Outside the gates, Aegon was confused as to why the command to fall back was given. He wanted to continue fighting but Criston dragged him by the arm. King or not he was still charged by Alicent to look after him.

At long last the bells finally rang, commencing the end of the bloody battle.

Both sides had faced grave loses.

On the side of the Greens, almost half of Aegon's army had been lost along with Borros and Tyland Lannister. Even Daeron was gravely injured.

On the side of the Black queen, Meleys and Rhaenys had been lost. Baela and Jace were fatalistically injured and Moondancer had passed.

Aegon knew at the sound of the bells his reign was over and now all that was left for him was either death or exile.
