Aegon was annoyed when he found the throne room empty.

He was so immersed in his cups that he hadn't taken into the account the time.

The sky was as black as his heart had turned and the torched lit in the large hall barely provided any light to see the frustration written all over his face.

He screamed, loudly.

Jace, who was merely passing by to get to his chambers, heard the obnoxious screaming and peeked inside the throne room.

Aegon could feel the sanity slipping away and out of his body.

He was a king when he'd left these halls and now he returned as nothing.

Eirlys' eyes fluttered open to find the room completely dark, She had been sleeping for the whole day.

Aemond was peacefully snoring next to her. He did not have his arm draped around like he normally did since she was of course severely injured and he did not want to inflict any pain on her whilst asleep.

Remembering that she had not tucked away Lyra, she decided to climb out of bed, strapped her little dagger back to her thigh and headed to her daughter's chambers. Hopefully the hour wasn't too late.

Her side hurt, where it was bandaged tightly. Breathing lightly helped ease the pain but did not provide a complete relief. Perhaps she would pour herself another cup with milk of the poppy before going back to sleep.

The castle was silent, until she neared the stairs that connected the two wings of the castle. A faint sound of some drunken banter reached her, though she couldn't decipher what was being said at such a distance from the source of the sound.

She did not care for it much, perhaps the lords were still celebrating their victory, an entire day past the battle but she did not want to ruin their fun.

Until three guards ran past her, in a rush.

Out of curiosity, she followed them, wincing slightly when she broke into a little jog but she was curious. Perhaps a brawl had broken out?

The noise grew louder as she neared the people who's voices were echoing through the hall. The guards rushed into the throne room and she followed.

Eirlys never would have guessed what she'd walked into.

One of the queen's guards restraining Aegon whilst three more ran in. Out of which two made their way to Jace, who was crumpled to the floor, withering in pain.

"Jace?" Eirlys called out as she made her way to her older brother, quiet concerned.

She was horrified when she saw him pressing his hands over his abdomen, his skin painted red as the blood that stained his clothes.

"What have you done?" She voice came out barely as a whisper "Aegon, what have you done!"

She spun around to see him struggling against the two men holding him, a crazed look adorning his features as he tightened his grip on the sword, stained with Jace's blood.

"Call the maesters!" She ordered, annoyed at how shrill her voice came out "take Prince Jacaerys to his chambers"

Jace, despite being in pain, was reluctant to leave his sister with Aegon. It took three of the guards to hoist him up and forcefully carry him out of the room, to have his fatal wound tended to.

"Why" Eirlys questioned, feeling a pang of betrayal. She was the one who had pleaded to her mother to let him keep his life, only for him to attempt at taking away her brother's "why did you-"
