'When do we tell him?' The now happy with Noel head elf asks, wrapping his arm around her waist. Noel smiles at him as she slowly walks back towards her uncles office, in Bernard's grasp. 'Now?' She suggests as they get to the tall wooden door.

Openinig the door, they are faced with a confused Scott. He looks down at Bernard's hand around his nieces waist before looking back up in slight anger. 'What is going on here?' He asks, pointing at his arm in rage. Noel looks down and pulls herself from Bernard. 'Scott, we need to talk to you.' She tells him stepping forward. 'Yeah you do.' Scott scuffs. 'You tell me why you ran out with my head elf, then decided to come back with his arm around you. Tell me young lady.'

Noel didn't understand the sudden mood change in her uncle.

Noel
--------------------

I have never seen Scott this unhappy. He's supposed to be the jolly, happy one. Why this sudden change in mood. I go to reason with him but am quickly shut down.

'How long?' Scott asks in a raise tone. 'What?' I stutter looking at Bernard and back to my uncle. 'How long has this been going on?' He asks waving his hands around at us like he's trying to cast some sort of spell. 'W...Well, um.' I stutter, trying to find the words that are lodged in my throat. 'Thanksgiving!' Bernard cut in, making me look at him sharply. Scott turns to him. 'Excuse me?'

'Since Thanksgiving.' Bernard swallows the fear in his throat. 'We've been together since Thanksgiving.' He repeats, looking down at his pointed shoes.

'You've been keeping this from me since Thanksgiving!' My uncle raises his voice, turning back to me. 'Scott,' I exhale quickly before being cut again. 'No, young lady! I don't want to here it.' He says before tuning back to his head elf. 'Out of all the boys you've liked. You pick the Head Elf. My Head Elf.' Scott say, pointing over at Bernard. I feel the pit of my stomach tighten, wishing all of this would just leave me. I look up at my uncle with rage in my veins. 'I never liked him.' I shout up at him, my eyes filling with tears. I look over at Bernard, watching as he raises his head to me.

'I loved him.' I confess, the tear in my eyes start to fall. Bernard lips curl at the coners, 'I love him.' I cry, looking back up at Scott. 'You love me?' I hear Bernard whisper from the other side of the room. I nod at him, the tears reaching my lips as I smile, the salty taste lingering.

'You don't know anything about love.' Scott interupts, making me loose my focus on Bernard. 'What?' I raise my voice as I look up at him. 'And you do? You promised mother you'd look after me. Treat me like one of your own.' I feel the air tense up and grow cold. 'You left me to fend for myself. Out everynight. Drinking or working.' I wipe the tears from my face, leaving red marks. 'No wonder Laura left you.' I saw Scott's life flash before his eyes, this sence of betrayal filling him.

Without another word, I feel the pain in my rise, my legs now starting to give way. Before hitting the ground I feel a pair of arms wrap around me. Bernard's arms. Scott stands over us, I see his eyes begin to shut. 'You alright?' Bernard whispers into my ear. I turn to him and smile in comfort. 'Y...Yeah.'

I begin to pull myself up, with the help of Bernard. Looking straight at my uncle I cry, 'I... I love him, Scott.' I plee. Scott huffs and goes to take a step forward but is pushed away by Bernard. 'She needs to rest.' He says before pulling me out of the room.

'Noel?' I hear my uncle mutter from the other side of the tall, wooden doors. I turn to Bernard with tears in my eyes.

'I should leave.' I whiser to him. 'No, no don't think like that,' Bernard comforts me, pulling me into his chest. I feel his warmth and his safety. I close my eyes and take in this moment. Maybe I should leave? Maybe this isn't the life I am supposed to lead.

Maybe Scott's right. I don't know anything about love.

'Noel...' I hear him whisper. 'Noel...'

Snapping open my eyes, I look at Bernard who was now to the side of me.

'When do we tell him?' The now happy Head Elf asks, wrapping his arm around my waist. I look up at him confused. 'What?' I mutter, didn't this just happen. 'About us.' Bernard says as if I was joking with him. I look up at Scott's tall, wooden doors.

Was all that in my head? It felt so real?

'So?' He asks me again. I look at him and smile, hoping Scott won't be as negative as he was in my mind. 'Let's go.' I smile up at him. Pushing away the negative thoughts.

Opening the door, we are faced with a confused Scott. He looks down at Bernard's hand around my waist before looking back up in slight anger. 'What is going on here?' He asks, pointing at Bernard's arm in rage.
I look down and pull myself from Bernard. 'Scott, we need to talk to you.' I tell him stepping forward. 'Yeah you do.' Scott scuffs. 'You tell me why you ran out with my head elf, then decided to come back with his arm around you. Tell me young lady.' I didn't understand the sudden mood change in my uncle.

This is exactly how I pictured it in my head.

'How long?' Scott asks in a raise tone.
'What?' I stutter looking at Bernard and back to my uncle. 'How long has this been going on?' He asks waving his hands around at us like he's trying to cast some sort of spell. 'W.....Well, um.' I stutter, trying to find the words that are lodged in my throat. 'Thanksgiving!' Bernard cut in, making me look at him sharply. Scott turns to him. 'Excuse me?'

Not again.

'Since Thanksgiving.' Bernard swallows the fear building in his throat. 'We've been together since Thanksgiving.' He repeats, looking down at his pointed shoes.

'You've been keeping this from me since Thanksgiving!' My uncle raises his voice, turning back to me. 'Scott,' I exhale quickly before being cut again.

Scott begins to laugh as he falls out of his seriousness. I look to Bernard in confusion. 'You should see your face.' My uncles chuckles pointing towards me. I feel a sort of relief come over me. 'I'm sorry.' He continues to laugh. Bernard walks over to Scott, looking him up and down. 'Sir?'

'You thought I didn't know.' I look up at him with more confusion on my face. 'I'm Santa!' Scott smiles, his face now glowing red. 'I know everything about everyone.'

'Ok. That's creepy.' I slight chuckle at my uncle. Walking back over to his chair, Scott laughs and falls into it. 'So your cool with it?' Bernard asks reaching for my hand. I allow him to intertwine his fingers with mine. 'Cool with it.' Scott says rocking his arms in front of himself. 'Ok. Don't do that.' I say turning myself in Bernard, my face growing red in embarrassment.

'Just don't do any of this lovey dovey stuff in front of me.' Scott says pointing to the two of us.

'I'm going to bed.' I smile pulling Bernard towards the door. He chuckles as he gets pulled from his position. 'Hey. Hey.' Scott says making us stop. We turn to him as I open the door slightly. 'Separate rooms.' He says pointing to me then B. 'Yes, Scott.' I say sarcastically. 'I mean it.' Scott chimes falling back into his chair. 'Yes, Sir.' Bernard says in his serious voice.

Pulling him out the tall, wooden door, we run down the hallway back to my room. Giggling like school children. Bernard twirls me into my room before kissing me softly.

Maybe telling Scott wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I now have Bernard. Bernard now has me.
