'What do we do?' Curtis asks as the pair run back down the decorated corridors. The bright, happy decorations slowly losing their sparkle. Noel storms alongside him, her beret bouncing on the top of her long chocolate hair.
'What if we...' Noel begins but is pulled down as if gravity had become stronger.
'Noel!' Curtis frights, 'are you ok?'Bending down beside her, Curtis grabs her cold arm. 'Oh my, you're freezing.'
Noel looks back up from the ground with frozen eyes, feeling the cold air flourish the long corridor. The pain in her head rising as she steadies herself up with help from Curtis.'Noel, are you ok?'
Looking down at the number two elf, Noel smiles softly, reassuring him. Although the feeling inside her taking over. From her feet to the tips of her ears.
'I'm fine.' She weakly smiles. For a moment she feels fine but a sudden burning feeling rises to her cheeks. 'Ah.' Noel cries.
Curtis stares up at the taller elf, noticing something different.
'Noel...' Curtis whispers, suspiciously.
'You're..'Before he can finish the sound of the toy soldiers' march echoes down the way.
'We need to move now!' Noel demands, as she grabs Curtis' hand before dragging him into a small room to the left.'Un hand me!' Curtis yelps, loosening the grip between him and her. Noel lets go of the young elf's sweaty hand before turning on a small lamp, placed delicately in the corner of the room.
'Curtis, we need to think.' Noel paces to and from each present covered wall.
'Well, Santa can't come here, cause he needs the wife.' Curtis begins, 'Bernard's out. You're...' he pauses for a moment, looking at Noel with a sneak eye. 'You're, yeah' He exhales, placing his hand on his head as he thinks.'Curtis?!' Noel asks, watching as he falls into deep thought.
'CURTIS!'
'What?!'
'What if we deploy E.L.F.S again?' Noel suggests. 'They'll know what to do.'
Her suggestion strikes him out of his unusual thoughts. Looking back up at her, Curtis huffs slightly before shaking his head.'E.L.F.S are out of action.'
Noel peers down at him in confusion. 'What do you mean? We, they, helped during the aircraft incident.' She points out before thinking of something else.
'We've got to go to Scott.''Noel, we can't'
'Why not?' Noel queries. 'If E.L.F.S are out, we're in.''Actually...' he pauses once again, looking down at his small, worn hands. 'That's not a bad idea.'
Noel smiles proudly at herself. 'We can use their equipment.' She suggests. Curtis looks at her knowing her next suggestion.
'JET PACK!' They shout in unison before hearing a loud bang the other side of the tall door.
'Shh!' Noel silences number two elf with her hand until they hear the footsteps distant out.
'Ready to go?' Noel asks as she holds the golden handle, ready to run for it. Curtis watches for a moment, not wanting to mention the big problem occurring.
'Yeah.' He pauses before giving her a thumbs up, 'ready.'Turning the knob, Noel rushes out of the room, followed by Curtis. Rushing down the dimly lit ways, the pair make it to the E.L.F.S store room. Slamming the door open, Curtis runs over to the jet pack station.
'Take this one.' Curtis shouts, picking up a red and green rucksack. Noel inspects it, looking at the red and white candy cane like wires leading to the big red button.
'Quickly!' Curtis bellows, his pack already strapped securely to his small body. Adjusting hers to fit, Noel rushes before a loud...
*BANG*
The doors to the centre burst open, sending wooden splinters across the room. Dodging them, Noel hurries her pace, pulling the safety strap around her.
'Where are you two going?!' The even eviler toy Santa yells as he enters the room, stamping on the wooden shafts. His henchmen, soldiers following behind, arms stretched ready to attack.
'Hurry!' Curtis snaps at Noel.'I'm done!'
'Go!!'
Noel and curtis press the buttons igniting the rockets attached to them, the blast throwing them into the air right before one of their arms reaches Noel. He misses.'Get back here!' The toy bawls as the pair distance off into the dark sky.
'Get back here!''Curtis!' Noel yelps, as she struggles with the flight. 'It's been a while since I've done this.' She awkwardly laughs as she starts to flip upside down, the blood running to her head.
Falling back slightly, Curtis grabs onto Noel's arm, pulling her along with him through the starry night. 'Woah!' Noel gasps at the sight but quickly remembers the troubled Bernard.
Looking down at the far away Pole she thinks about him. What he's doing. If he's got out or not.
'Is he going to be ok?' She shouts to Curtis over the blaring noise of the jets.
'That goon! Of course not. When we get Santa back we're gonna kick his arse!''Not him you idiot!' Noe rolls her eyes, 'Bernard!' She tutts, hoping he'd be ok.
'He's going to be fine, Noel!' Curtis blurts.
'Let's just find Santa and get him home.'
Noel thinks for a moment as the view of the pole disappears.'You know, Curtis.' Gaining his attention, the young elf looks to Noel, 'this is the worst thing you've ever done.'
