The footsteps stop.
Noel starts to panic further, each breath quickening as the silence grows. Standing in the dark until they leave.
'I've got them, you idiots!' She hears the Toy Santa screech before the sound of rushing toy soldiers follow, slowly fading away. Taking a deep breath of relief, Noel slowly approaches the door, opening it quietly to reveal an empty corridor. She sighs again before parading down towards the cells, in hopes of finding Bernard.
After checking for a clear path, she slips through the slightly opened, wooden doors before heading into the empty jailhouse. 'Bernard?' She shouts, searching for him. Looking through the stained glass window in the tall doors, she notices the empty cells behind it. 'Oh no.' Worried about the head elf, Noel runs back out before stopping in her tracks. 'His office.' She thinks before turning around and running towards it.
Approaching the doors without a care in the world the now human girl barges through the closed doors, searching it high and low for her lover. No luck. 'Sherbert!' She exhales, starting to seriously panic. 'Where can he be?'
Feeling her heart beating fast and faster, Noel slowly but shakingly exits the office before jumping in her spot. 'Santa's office!' She gasps to herself.
After running around in circles, trying to avoid the enemy, Noel finally makes it to Scott's old office. The tall, stainglassed doors, closed. She approaches willingly, praying to see him on the other side. Pushing the heavy doors open, Noel makes it through seeing a glimpse of a handsome elf, looking hopeless for himself. 'B?'
The head elf's head quickly rises, looking directly at her. 'Noel?' He quivers at the sight of her, hardly believing she was there in front of him. 'B.' She slowly approaches him, analysing the state of Bernard tied up using red ribbon, that had been wrapped around Scott's old, decorated armchair. He shakes his hands, trying to get out of the trap to embrace his girlfriend. 'Noel! Help me.' He demands, still staring into her tearing eyes. She starts to rip and untie the ribbons before pulling him up from the chair into a deep hug. Taking in his scent, his warmth, his embrace.
Pushing her away, Bernard scans her body, noticing her now human changes. He pushes her hair behind her ears, noticing their size. 'Snowflake?'
'I'm sorry. I didn't know this would happen, I-' Noel breaks down, tears flooding from her eyes down her face. Bernard cuts her off with a small, delicate kiss upon her cold, pink lips. Noel pulls away, holding her eyes shut before leaning her forehead onto his.
'I'm just glad you're safe and home.'
'We're not safe.' She pulls away from him, looking deeply into his eyes. 'Not yet.'
'Where's Scott and Curtis?' The head elf asks, holding his girlfriend close to him.'They got captured by Toy Santa.'
'We need to go help them.' Bernard tells her before grabbing her hands. Noel shakes her head as she continues to shiver. Her human self not adjusting to the cold weather. 'What if I never turn back?'
The sudden change in conversation struck Bernard as he looks into Noel's hazel eyes, noticing a small sparkle. 'You will. Trust me.' Smiling comfortingly at his girlfriend, he goes to pull Noel out of the room when all of a sudden they hear the giggling of an older lady. 'Who's that?' The head elf asks before the pair rush over to the open balcony with a view over the Pole.
Noel looks out, noticing the Tooth Fairy, Charlie and... Principal Newman, flying over the village. 'Principal Newman?' Noel mutters, watching as they aim for the roof of the workshop. 'Who?' Her elf boyfriend asks, noticing the familiar look in her face. 'Come on!' Noel drags him out of the office, down the corridors towards the workshop.
