Chapter 14 Netherrealm War

2 Years Later...

It's been two years since Shao Kahn's death. I voted for Mileena to become Kahn and some of the Outworld people were skeptical but since Mileena was his heir and Katana was dead, she became Kahn. The first thing she did was make me her right-hand man. Me and BF/N have not spoken since Shao Kahn's death. Ever since the Elder Gods spoke to me, I've trying to change my ways. One day I was sleeping, and I woke up and I see the Elder Gods.

Elder Gods: Y/N.

"Uh why am I here?"

Elder Gods: We need your help.

"With?"

Elder Gods: The Fallen Elder God Shinnok has escape.

"Oh... That's bad."

Elder Gods: Raiden, Fujin, and the special forces are combating the kombating Shinnok and his army as we speak.

"And you want me to help."

Elder Gods: Indeed. You and Mileena must join Earthrealm in the battle.

"In case you haven't noticed... Mileena is mad at Raiden and Earthrealm for the whole killing her dad thing."

Elder Gods: We were afraid of that and that's why you must go.

"How am I supposed to sneak out of the kingdom?"

Elder Gods: We already took care of that.

I woke up and saw a blue portal in my room and I walk into it and I'm in Earthrealm. I then see a large flying beast that resembles a gargoyle grabs one of these soldiers, lifts him into the air and drops him. Another soldier is tackled into the concrete by a demon moving almost too fast to see. Several other soldiers meet the same fate. The demons then turned towards me and started to run at me. I pull out my blood sword and I start to kill the demons. After killing them I see several helicopters flying over me. I decided to follow them.

BF/N POV:

I was in a helicopter with Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Kenshi and several other military soldiers.

Pilot: Destination dead ahead.

Johnny: Set 'er down nice and easy for me.

Pilot: Don't I always?

Johnny: If by "always" you mean "not once".

We were all sitting down, and Sonya got up to address us.

Sonya: Alright, you have the rendezvous coordinates. Far edge of the forest. From there, we accessed the portal to Raiden's sky temple.

Johnny: Where there's an angry former Elder God and his devils waiting for us.

Soldiers: Gods, portals, flying demons...

"Better believe it."

Kenshi: The world has changed. For the worse, if we do not expel Shinnok from Raiden's temple. He means to poison Earthrealm's life force - the Jinsei.

Sonya: And we're not gonna let that happen.

Johnny: Kenshi and I appreciate the Major allowing us to join you. We're happy to help kick Shinnok's bony ass back to the NetherRealm.

"When this is all over, I'm grabbing a drink. Wanna join Cage?"

Before he could reply we heard an explosion, and we saw helicopters in front of us catch fire. Sonya quickly takes the co-pilot seat again. As a fireball races to the left of our chopper, the helicopter on fire crashes into the ground, utterly destroying it. Another fireball explodes on the side of another chopper in front of ours.

"Sonya! You gotta land this damn thing!"

As the second chopper on fire crashes and explodes, the windshield suddenly shatters as a kunai attached to a chain burst through and impales itself in the face of the pilot.

Johnny: Shit!

The pilot barely has time to let out a cry of agony before he is dragged back through the windshield, breaking it apart on his side. In the co-pilot's seat, Sonya desperately tries to keep the helicopter from crashing.

"Where did you learn to fly!?"

Sonya: Wanna get out and walk!?

We heard a sound and saw a Scorpion. Before the soldiers can react, Scorpion kicks two of them in the chest, then knocks out the one in front of him with a straight right hand. He elbows the one behind him for another hit knockout, then draws his sword in the same motion and decapitates the next two soldiers in front of him. Scorpion buries his sword in the face of the fifth soldier, then draws his second sword and backhands it through the belly of the sixth soldier. He slips the two swords back into their sheaths as the final two soldiers fall dead, all in the space of about six seconds. We fought Scorpion to beat him until we saw a now human Sub-Zero. We fought both of them while Sonya was trying to land. Scorpion finally kicks Kenshi off him, but he manages to stab his weapon into the side of the helicopter. It glows as it cuts through the chopper's side, but finally sticks before Kenshi is hurled to his death. Cage lunges at Scorpion and tackles him out of the helicopter, falling out himself in the process.

Y/N POV:

I was following until I saw two figures falling from the helicopter. I ran over and saw Johnny and Scorpion and then the helicopter crashed into the ground. I ran to the helicopter and started to drag Sonya out and I saw him... after so long... BF/N.

"Now I know this looks bad-"

I was cut off when BF/N tried to fight me, and I was dodging his attacks and I tried to convince him I was here to help. I then see Sub-Zero as a revenant.

"Sub-Zero... Get Sonya out of the helicopter. Now!"

I walk towards Sub-Zero, and I inspect him.

"I'm sorry for what has happened to you..."

I ended up fighting Sub-Zero. After a long fight I was available to knock out Sub-Zero. I then saw Johnny Cage running up.

Johnny: Y/N?

"Hello Cage."

I then heard a gun get loaded. I turn and see Sonya pointing a pistol at me.

Sonya: Don't move.

"I don't mean no harm."

BF/N: I don't know... It's been a while. How do we know you've changed?

"Trust me I regret my mistakes and the stuff I did. Not a day goes by where I want to rewind time and fix everything but once we defeat Shinnok I'll leave, and you won't see me ever again. Deal?"

They all looked at each other and Sonya put her pistol away.

Sonya: If you try anything that'll be your last mistake......
