We all arrived back at base and saw younger versions of Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Jax. Kung Lao and Kung Jin sat down and decided to catch up. I was walking with Raiden telling him about the past and Cassie confirms it.

Past Raiden: So, it is true. I walked a darker path.

Cassie: After Shinnok went down, you became a different person. Red lightning, black clothes. Authoritarian attitude adjustment.

Johnny: Yeah, about that; what happened to "Dark" you, hmm? How come you're an only child and I've got an evil twin?

Past Raiden: As an immortal, I exist outside the normal laws of time. That could explain why I am affected differently.

I looked and saw Past BF/N and Past Y/N arguing.

Past BF/N: So, you were going to help Shao Kahn conquer Earthrealm?

Past Y/N: My parents were servant of Shao Kahn and I promised them that I'll help him when the time came.

Past BF/N: You can't be serious?

Past Y/N: Does it look like I'm joking?

I was walking towards Raiden while younger Johnny was annoying present Johnny.

Past Johnny: C'mon, at least think about it. We each get points off the gross. Coming this summer... Johnny Cage AND Johnny Cage! In "Timequake"!

"I forgot how annoying he was."

While walking I saw Ermac debating.

"You, okay?"

Emac: Our master... Shao Kahn is alive. We do not know who to choose to serve.

"Follow your heart. It will guide you. I followed mines and looked where it led me."

I left him alone with his thoughts and I went towards Raiden, and he asked me,

Past Raiden: Are you ready?

I nod and we teleport to the Elder Gods.

Past Raiden: Elder Gods! We have come to seek counsel. The realms are in crisis.

We then saw the Elder Gods.

Elder Gods: The crisis is grave indeed, Raiden. Every being will be erased in a temporal Armageddon, even we Elder Gods. Already our power weakens.

"We will fight Cetrion but how do we beat this threat?"

Elder Gods: You must find Kronika's Keep and gain control of her hourglass. Only then will time's momentum be restored.

Raiden: It will be done.

We turn to leave but Raiden pauses for a moment and hangs his head in contemplation.

Elder Gods: Speak your mind Raiden.

Raiden: Since this time merger, I have learned about my future. That my champions fell. That I became a tyrant. If Kronika is defeated, will I be consigned to this grim fate?

Elder Gods: The restoration of time will not predetermine your destiny. That is for you to shape. Y/N we want to speak with you alone. Cetrion you are excused.

Cetrion fades away and Raiden leaves and I turn towards the Elder gods and I ask,

"What do you want to talk about?"

Elder Gods: Throughout your years you have served Shao Kahn, then died trying to stop Shinnok and became a revenant, then helped Mileena reclaim her throne, then you stopped Shinnok.

"What does all have to do with stopping this merger?"

Elder Gods: You have proven yourself to be chosen.

"Chosen? Chosen for what?"

Elder Gods: ...To be our champion. Once we die our power will go into you and will change you to an Elder God.

"Does Cetrion know about this?"

Elder Gods: Cetrion is the daughter of Kronika.

I was surprised and I ask,

"What do you mean by "Once we die"?"

Elder Gods: We are slowly dying due to Kronika's time effect.

"Oh..."

Elder Gods: Once you have our power you will be able to weaken and kill Kronika. Now go. Stop the time merger.

I nod and I was transported back to the base and saw Kotal getting ready.

"Kotal what is going on?"

Kotal: We found D'Vorah's hideout. Me, Jade, Mileena and multiple Outworld warriors are going to confront her.

"I'm coming."

Cole: What do you want me to do?

"I need you to help my younger self and your mom's younger self get along."

Cole: Got it.

Me, Mileena, Kotal, Jade and some Outworld warriors went to find D'Vorah.

Meanwhile...

The present Jackson Briggs, frantically searching a nearby desk, before slamming it shut in frustration. He walks over to his couch and hauls it up effortlessly with one hand, feeling under it with the other but finding nothing.

Jax: Oh, come on, damn it!

He lifts up the seat of his armchair, finding nothing once more, then turns to some papers on another desk. He quickly moves them apart and locates an identical communicator to the one Jacqui had earlier. He activates it at once.

Jax: Come on, come on...

Jax trys to Call Jacqui but the call does not go through. Jax begins to shake in nervous anxiety. Frustrated, he hurls the device across the room and sits down in his armchair. Far from relaxing though, he leans forward and puts his head in his hands, falling into despair.

Sevral hours later...

Jax has fallen asleep in his chair, a beer in his hand and leftover pizza on a nearby table, the only light coming from the television across the room flickering with static but showing nothing else. As he sleeps, the beer slowly tilts from his relaxing hand and begins to fall, spilling its contents toward the floor... until time stops and the bottle's motion with it. With a swirl of sand magic, Kronika teleports into the room and walks toward Jax.

Kronika: Jackson Briggs.

Jax awakens to the sound of his name but makes no effort to confront the intruder in his house. Kronika looks at him with pity and remorse.

Kronika: Do not fear. I have come to offer you a new life - a better life.

Jax: That's awfully generous, seeing as we've never met.

Kronika: We have not met, but I know you. How valiantly you served, how horribly you have suffered. That was not my plan for you.

Jax: Your plan?

Kronika: You were to retire distinguished, not in disgrace. Years from now. General Jackson Briggs. More importantly, your daughter was not to serve, nor endure the same tragedies you have. Your home should be filled with grandchildren. Help me and it will be.

Jax looks to her, his face uncertain but pondering the weight of her words....
