"Y/n please help me braid The children's hair, None of them will remain still and you know my mother will Scold me even at this grown age" Tsireya says softly and Y/n nods her head firmly coming over. A stern look rested on her face as she sat next to her Cousin, They were related on her mother's side as her uncle is Tonowari, Olo'eyktan of the Metkayina clan.

"I've lived with you guys for the past 17 years, and Your mother still scares me, Ronal is not to be messed with. I believe the baby in the womb will soften her heart in a way." Y/n says softly as she helps to braid a child's hair, The little girl flinched in pain from the tight grip y/n had on her hair making y/n loosen up her grip just slightly as she hushed the child giving them something sweet to eat as she continued to braid their hair.

"Yes, I believe so as well, my mother is softer towards children but towards us adults, she stays firm always. The Sully family were once her victims, Her fury when she saw their demon blood was unmatched, don't take this personally but I saw it with you as well at a young age." Tsireya says softly as she finished the child's hair in front of her patting them away to go play with the other children in the water.

She watched as y/n effortlessly used her ten fingers to weave the strands of hair quickly adding in The usual shells and beads, once done y/n pats the girl's shoulders smiling softly at her. "Please, go and have fun, my child. We will have fun tonight as always when we decide to throw a village party."

The child looks up at y/n giving a toothy grin showcasing their missing tooth before they get up running away to join their friends once again.

The young woman gets up straightening her black tribal clothing.(Idk what to call them) Tsireya begins to walk leading the way to her family's hut as y/n follows behind the girl was quiet as Tsireya talked about her budding Romance with Lo'ak and how he is improving each day with learning to be patient. It was such a sickeningly sweet thing to hear considering Y/n had failed romances before with the men in her village. They were okay in the beginning but after they realized Y/n had come from the village up north they stayed away knowing that the village harbored a demon and that she was born from the love of a Navi woman and said Demon.

"Hey Reya,  mom says you need to prepare for the silly kids to come back, they've spent the past 50 moons with their forest people and are coming back from a long journey with their parents" Ao'nung tells his sister and he looks at his cousin sighing at his younger sister, He had enough of his mother's stoic face and nagging for one day. He held his hand up for his cousin to high-five.  But she declined by shaking her head. "No, I don't have time for your childish antics to make fun of me, begone fish boy"

Ao'nung laughs at his cousin and nods his head going to find his friend Roxto so they may go out hunting in the reef, their usual spot to get away from their clan.

"Y/n, Tsireya there you are!"  Ronal says holding up a basket full of decorations to prepare for the festival that night. "One of you I will need here and the other will prepare to welcome the sully's home by waiting for their arrival. Choose who gets to go now." Ronal spoke sternly in her voice as she turns around grabbing her bag full of tools to prepare for the festival. Tsireya looks at y/n with her big doe eyes as if pleading and y/n rolls her eyes shoving her slightly with her elbow as if urging her to go.

Tsireya smiles brightly and runs out of the hut without a second thought leaving y/n behind. "Y/n you cannot always choose to stay here with me so that girl may see that Forest boy, next time I will have her stay here and you will go," Ronal speaks to her niece in a hushed tone as they exit the hut together. Y/n didn't mind spending time with Ronal and always smiled at her Aunt whenever she would be scolded.

"Aunt...You are like a second mother to me I do not mind spending time with you, the way you speak reminds me of my own mother and it comforts me in these times of loneliness I face alone." Y/n's voice was quiet but the Winds carried her voice to Ronal's ears and the older woman nodded looking at her niece from the corner of her eyes, a look of endearment showed for just a moment as they prepared everything in the heart of the village.
