3rd Person POV
1998 - Queens, New York
A woman walks the streets of New York, cold and alone. Her parents went off to do some shopping while she herself explored the city she used to remember. It reminded her of when she would go to the town's market with her husband and her friends back home, roaming around all day, either buying something from every stand or just browsing through the little shops.
Her husband always wanted to spoil her when they went, and always encouraged her to buy something, though she declined almost every time. She never liked spending his money. Even though he had enough for centuries to come and more, she never wanted to make it seem like his statice or his fortune was the reason for their marriage. She loved him and tried her best to prove it to him every day, no matter what.
Sadly, unbeknownst to her, she wouldn't be able to see her husband, family, or friends for a very long time.
Because they had been watching since her arrival to Midgard, and they weren't about to let her go.

Alex's POV
2012 - Częstochowa, Poland"Fuuuuck" I quietly whined in the neighborhood coffee shop with my laptop, papers littering the table I was at. "Why do I always get stuck with the annoying ass paperwork?"
I was working on finishing my stupid mission as fast as possible. It's been a little over two years since I started working this damn mission for SHIELD and it's been hell. All I had left now was the paperwork.
"Agent Kara," A deep voice said, the owner of it sitting down at my table, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Przepraszam pana, nie znam nikogo o nazwisku Kara i zdecydowanie nie jestem age-" {Sorry, sir, I don't know any Kara, and I am definitely not an age-} I finally looked up to see who was sitting in front of me.
Nick Fury.
"Oh, it's just you," I said in English, going back to my paperwork.
"You don't want to know why I'm here?" He asked in an amused voice.
"Let me guess..." I sat back and put my finger on my chin pretending to think. "You want to extend my mission, right when I'm about to officially be done and want me to continue working in this hell hole," I suggested with a scowl.
"Actually, no. I'm here to inform you that you're going home. Today." The pirate said standing back up.
"What??"
"Come on, I have something for you to do for the Avengers since you're not going on missions for a while. You need a break. All of your stuff is already in the jet. You can finish this shit when you're home." Fury said motioning toward the pile of paperwork.
"Wait, why can't I go on missions while I'm home? What are you making me do?" I asked, grabbing my things and following Fury.
"I'll tell you on the jet. Now come on, I don't have all damn day."
~~
"Did you tell the others I'm coming back yet?" I asked, stepping into the jet.
"No, I haven't been bothered to tell them."
"Figures. I know you probably won't, but don't say anything. I want to surprise them."
"I wouldn't suggest sneaking up on Agent Romanoff. You know what happened last time Barton did that."
"I remember," I laughed. "He couldn't sit properly for a week!"
