Loki and I didn't see much of each other the following week, each of us following our respective royal around the palace. Each night, Loki and I would sit and talk about our days, him complaining about how Odin barely even talked to him, making it so he just learns from watching. Anytime he has a question, Odin completely ignored him, frustrating the God to no end.
He always seemed to enjoy listening to the retelling of my day with Frigga, though. Even with my stories being quite boring, I think he liked listening to my interactions with his mother. My days were mainly spent in the healing wing, working on the appropriate spells to help heal the warriors and anyone else in the wing.
After that, we would go to the throne room where Odin, and now Loki too, were listening to the people and any grievances they had and forcing them to take a break and come have lunch. Afterward, we would go down to the villages, helping the healers there as well as the people. Sometimes when there was less work, Frigga would handle the head villagers and healing while I read or played with the children.
"So, you ready to start pretending to be your father?" I tucked my legs under myself, looking at Loki who was looking for a new book to read while we were in the library.
"Not particularly. He hasn't been the most helpful in showing me how to be a king."
"I know it can only do so much, but you've been studying for this for your whole life. This whole time you have been preparing how to rule the realm."
"No, Thor was learning. I was just made to tag along to make it look like Odin wasn't playing favorites."
"No. You were learning and gathering all that knowledge while Thor sat daydreaming about... whatever it is Thor daydreams about." I smirked at him."I suppose you may be right." He huffed, finally taking a book off the shelf and coming over to sit beside me on the couch I had moved to.
"I'm always right. I thought you knew that."
"Of course you are, darling." He sarcastically smiled, leaning in to kiss me.
"What- what's that supposed to mean?!" I scoffed, pausing to kiss him back.
"Nothing, nothing. You can just be a little strong-minded about certain things, is all." He shrugged, opening his book.
My mouth opened in preparation to say something back, but that and Loki's book immediately shut when a guard came in, walking right toward the two of us.
"Parden the intrusion, your highness, Lady Alex, but the Allfather and Allmother have requested your presence immediately in the throne room."
"Thank you. We shall be there shortly." I nodded, watching the guard bow, turning and leaving us alone again."I guess it's time," I said, a tight-lipped smile on my face.
"Shall we, my Queen?" Loki stood, giving a dramatic bow.
"We shall, my King." I chuckled, giving my own dramatic curtsy and taking his held-out arm.

"We shall be gone for quite a while, but just because we are not here does not mean we will not know what you two have been up to. Not only have I instructed Heimdall to give daily updates, but news travels fast across the realms. So no matter what you do, we will most likely end up hearing about it."
"Dear do not try and scare them. They will do just fine." Frigga scolded her husband.
"I am only telling the truth, my love. I will be keeping a very close eye on these two. I do not need the realms falling into ruin because I didn't check up on them."
"But you do not need them to be on constant surveillance, I thought we talked about this."
I glanced at Loki as the two talked, the god beside me also seeming to not know what to do at the moment.
