I gasped as I pulled away from Loki, almost giving myself whiplash with how fast I moved.
"Alex, are you okay? What happened?" Thor asked, moving away from Loki and towards me.
"I... I remember. I remember everything." I looked up at him, my eyes glossy.
"What? How-" Thor trailed off, looking down at Loki. Furrowing my eyes, I looked down too, only to see the large hole in his chest glowing gold, exactly like what happened with Frigga.
"It's happening again," I mumbled, glancing back up at Thor.
"How does this keep happening, though? What magic is this?"
"I have no idea. We'll have to ask Frigga when we get back."The two of us impatiently watched as the hole slowly closed up, becoming a solid chest once again, not even a scratch on him to show what had just happened.
We watched with bated breath as Loki remained motionless, his chest not even rising to indicate his breathing.
"What if it didn't work this time?" I asked Thor, who looked just as helpless as I did.
"Don't worry, it did." I gasped at the sound of Loki's rough voice, looking down to see him pry his eyes open.
"Oh, my gods," I whispered, throwing my arms around the god's neck, my body falling on top of his.
"Oof, darling, as much as I enjoy this, I'm still a bit sore." Loki groaned, placing his hand on my back as he slowly moved us to a sitting position."Oh! Sorry, sorry." I quickly moved away, putting a bit of distance between us.
"Um, I'm sorry, but didn't he just die? How do you guys keep coming back to life? Is that part of being an Asgardian?" Jane, who I honestly forgot was there, asked.
"No, no. We have no idea what's causing this. Though I will say I have no problems with this magical spirit at the moment." I told her, looking back at Thor and Loki, the elder brother having the younger in a bear hug.
"Thor, you have to remember that he needs to breath." I chuckled.
"Ah, you are right, dear sister." He said, letting go. "I would hate to lose my brother for a third time."
"Yeah, "Death by Thor's Bear Hugs." It would be a very tragic way to go." I sarcastically nodded, making Loki chuckle."Yes, it would indeed. Now, would you please tell me why you are suddenly okay with touching me? I thought you didn't like seeing your memories."
"How did you know that?" I asked him, watching as a guilty look spread across his face. "You read my mind.""No! I would never do that. Plus I couldn't if I tried... No, mother actually told me."
"Of course." I shook my head, smiling softly.
"You will never believe it, brother! Alex has her memories back! Isn't that wonderful!" Thor cheered, looking like an excited puppy.
"You... you remember?" Loki looked at me, his eyes wide.
"Yeah. Yeah, I remember." I nodded, letting out a little yelp as I was lifted off the ground. Loki had gotten up and lifted me with him, causing me to wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck for stability.
"Oh, darling that is wonderful! You have no idea how long I have been waiting to hear that. Thor and I had been trying to think of different ways to help you, but could not think of anything until we were able to come to Asgard." He leaned his forehead against my own, closing his eyes."Well, I remember my life before Hydra and you're alive. All is okay now."
"Sorry to ruin your moment, but it won't be if we don't do something about Malikith and the Aether." Jane interrupted again, a bit of an annoyed look coming across her face.
