The next morning came much too quickly for my liking, but when do things ever truly go my way? I went into Loki and I's little kitchen, looking around to find something to eat. I ended up finding some bread and jelly, so I made myself some toast.
"Morning," I said, not turning around to see the person that entered the room a second ago.
"What is it your making now?" Loki's smooth voice came from behind me.
"Just some toast- bread, and jelly. You want some?"
"I suppose I could give it a try." I saw him nod, sitting at the island. Once the toaster popped, I used the knife I found to spread the jelly across the two slices of bread and set them on a plate.
"Bon appétit."
I turned around to put my pieces of bread in the toaster right as Loki gave an almost grimace towards the food.
"This looks rather unappealing." He poked at the bread.
"Just try it, you big baby." I rolled my eyes.
I heard silence as I took my toast out of the toaster, putting the jelly on before putting it away in the refrigerator. When I turned around, Loki seemed to be staring off into space, his plate empty minus a few crumbs.
"I assume it was good?" I chuckled, taking his plate and giving it a quick wash in the sink, drying it, and then putting it back in the cupboard.
"I suppose it was adequate."
"All right, you ready to find the library?" I ignored his comment, walking past him and towards the elevator. Loki scurried after me, coming to a halt beside me right as the elevator doors were opening.
The god kept stealing glances at me on our way up to the library. I tried to ignore it, but it was difficult when I kept feeling a stabbing pain in my skull.
"Would you stop that? You're not getting in. All your doing is giving me a headache." I complained.
"You truly do not remember me?" He ignored my complaints.
"No. And frankly, it's really weird to have you stare at me like you've seen a ghost while listening to your brother call me "Little Sister". I know Thor claimed we had some sort of relationship, but considering that I can't remember anything since twelve years ago it's really weird. Everything comes back in pieces."
"Yes well, as you so put it, for me it is strange seeing a 'ghost' showing me around the tower of the people I tried to kill not long ago." Loki shot back.
"How about this." I rubbed my temple. "Let's start over. Okay? Whoever I supposedly was to you all those years ago is gone. I'm different, and I'm sure you are too. So... let's start over. Hi." I held my hand out. "My name's Alexandra Kara, though everyone calls me Alex."
Loki looked at me, seeming shocked, before shaking his head and looking down. "You couldn't have said anything else?"
"What?" I retracted my hand, having it dangle at my side.
"You said something very similar after our first fight when we were first learning mothers' lessons together."
"Oh... sorry." I awkwardly said.
The elevator doors opened then, revealing the entryway to the main living space.
"The library is just down the hall, through the two large double doors," Jarvis informed us.
"You two headed to the library?" I looked over towards the kitchen to see Olivia leaning on the island in what looked like workout clothes, eating an apple while her laptop was placed in front of her.
