The window
"Hey! We're here!"
Your brother shook your shoulder waking you up.
You dozed off in the car right when you stepped in it.
The 12-hour plane ride was tiring even if you slept most of it.
Grabbing your small pillow and a purse you get out looking at your surroundings.
The air was different, it felt suffocating in that car but now you're welcomed with soft sunny rays and a delicate smell.
You were in front of a tall black and brown building with so many windows.
It was a unique combination of old construction and modern style.
"Take your suitcase." Your brother said from behind the car.
You go over there to take your grey suitcase while taking a few glances at the street.
The street was decorated with trees and flowers on both sides that seemed to be at their peak.
There were placed a few oak benches in case you feel tired.
You couldn't catch much just with your eyes, you definitely have to take a walk right after unpacking.
Even tho you haven't packed much the suitcase was still heavy and hard to carry.
Your mom waited for you in front of the glass doors of the weird building.
"C'mon! They're inside. We won't wait for you forever."
It did annoy you that she kept doing that but you tried to ignore it.
You enter the building after your mom while pulling that heavy suitcase behind you.
The interior was appealing to the eyes.
Soft shades of dirty white and brown played all through the interior.
The walls were on one side white and the other side brown.
A light brown leather sofa stood in one corner right across from the receptionist's desk.
Marble white tales decorated the floor and it was so luxurious.
A big crystal chandelier hangs above you.
From one of the hallways, your aunt was walking gracefully in happiness.
She was your dad's sister and this was the best side of the family for you.
They were the only ones who fancied you as much as they did your brother and sister.
"Welcome, dear! Are you tired?"
She first walked towards you and wrapped you in a soft hug you wanted for so long.
"You okay? You've changed so much. We'll talk later okay?"
She whispered.
It felt like she saw right through you.
Then she proceeded to greet the others.
"Auntie, is uncle at home?"
She shakes her has with a smile.
"No, but he'll come home soon."
As you nod you start going to the elevator at the end of the hallway.
"Yumi is coming with you."
You heard your mother before your sister appeared beside you.
You wanted to go alone but guess not.
The hallway was welcoming and a warm atmosphere was all around it.
You didn't share one word with your sister throughout the whole walk and ride in the elevator.
Your aunt and uncle lived on the 14th floor and their floor was beautiful.
The whole white and brown hallway was decorated with a lot of plants and oil paintings.
There wasn't too much of anything, just the right amount of each detail.
There was even a small lobby with three brown leather sofas, a soft fluffy white rug, and a small oak coffee table in the middle.
Of course in the corners were placed tall plants and lamps.
Their apartment was right next to that lobby.
Since you had to wait for them to come here you and your sister sat across from each other on those comfy sofas.
Your sister immediately took her phone and started texting with someone while you just stared at her.
You wondered more than a thousand times why are they like this, is it your problem or what?
Then she raises her head and looks at you with a confused face, her eyes only shined with disgust in them.
"You have something to say?"
You shake my head taking my phone out.
You text Han so you don't feel so lonely.
- Hey, we arrived, the flight was draining. What are you two doing? -
You knew it was around 10 pm there and they were most likely somewhere and won't answer you any soon.
You still tried it.
Then, the familiar voices were heard down the hallway so you stand up.
"Let's go, ladies, we should unpack and order some food."
Finally entering her apartment you felt a little safer.
Her apartment was dressed up in a modern style combining black and white everywhere.
What appealed to you the most was that she had a window that spread through one whole wall in the living room.
"Okay, here's the plan. Doyun and Hyeonju are in that guest room and Yumi and Jaeseong are next to them."
She opens the door of each room while they get in with their suitcases.
Then she turns towards you and smiles.
"Minji, I think this room is perfect for you. Come on."
You follow her to the end of the hallway passing three rooms.
"Here, you're sleeping alone and I think you're happy because of that, right?"
"Yes, thank you."
Relief rushes through you so you smile a little, hiding your huge excitement.
"No worries. I'll leave you now, I'm in the living room if you need me."
Her eyes disappear in her smile before going away.
You enter the room and, wow, it's amazing.
The floor is made out of luxurious wood, thumping underneath your feet.
The walls are painted white with grey straps across them.
Furniture, soft delicate leather.
A white wooden desk in the left corner, a bed on the right, and a sofa in the left corner a meter away from the desk.
There was a grey and red guitar leaning on the white bed.
Again, the whole wall was a window, right in front of that desk.
Also, a lazy bag was seated between the desk and the bed on a big grey fluffy rug.
A few tall black lamps and green plants were scattered around the room.
The walls were decorated with pictures, posters, and music CDs.
Everything was so detailed and pretty. Putting the suitcase next to the bed you sit on the lazy bag to look at the city.
What a vibe.
Han and Jeongin have to see this.
You called Jeongin and after a few rings, he answered.
-Hey Ji! You arrived?"-
You could hear some faint music from the speaker.
-Yes Jeon. I hope I'm not interrupting something. Aunt had a special room just for me. I think it was my cousin's room before. Look at the view.-
You turn on the camera and show him the view.
-Of course not. But omg. It's beautiful. Take a lot of pics and send them all to me.-
-I will. How are things out there?-
-I think you can hear, we're in Square, that club that opened a few months ago. We are going to bring you here when you come back.-
-That is going to be hard Jeong.-
-Sorry Ji, I have to go. Jacob is a snob. I'll call you when I come home. Don't think I'm avoiding you. Have fun.-
-It's all good. Have fun too. Cya later.-
You hang up getting up to change your clothes.
