Vanya pulled me out of the car and I grab my head, it ached so much.
Another pair of arms came over my shoulders taking me from her.
It was Jeongin.
I could see the sadness in his brown eyes.
"I'm sorry."
He mumbled but I heard it.
Why is he sorry?
It's not his fault...
Only when I thought I could be finally happy again it's not possible.
In front of the building, Minho stood nervously.
The aura around him was dark and he wasn't the same.
He wasn't just a friend of Han and Jeongin.
That was obvious.
"They're already in there. They have lost the track of you so don't worry. Is everyone alright?"
Chan looked at us before nodding.
"Mostly."
In there, the others were seated in the couch and a few chairs.
Jeongin hand was still over my shoulder and that's when he grunted.
On his other hand, there was a red circle.
No no no.
I pull him to a chair before examining his left arm.
"I'll clean this up. Afterward, I need answers."
Jeongin hangs his head low.
He was unreadable.
The silence was too loud.
Not even breathing was heard.
In the bathroom, I found everything I needed to clean his wound.
Luckily I found some clothing that I can tie above.
A few grunts were heard from him as I started cleaning his arm but the silence continued.
Somehow I felt the walls closing in on me.
I felt sad and angry but I had to go keep myself together.
After I cleaned it up, the hardest part was here.
Getting the bullet out.
"I'm going to pull it out now. Grab onto my other hand."
He did so and I started pulling it.
Jeongin squealed from the pain a little but that's it. No more sounds.
His pressure on my hand is all I needed to know how much it hurt.
"Done."
We were all seated around a small black coffee table.
Kazuha, Seungmin, Jeongin, and Felix were on the couch as Vanya, Minho, Chan and I were on the chairs.
Chan is in the middle while we are all turned toward him.
"Everyone get out. I need only them here."
With his words, they all left remaining Vanya, Jeongin, and I.
Chan sighed.
"So, the event today has to be forgotten."
That's it.
No way.
"Chan. This is not something that could be forgotten and you know that. If the bullet went to a more dangerous place it would be the end."
He put his hand on his face while listening to my words.
"Goddamnit, I know!"
Then the silence continued again.
It was Jeongin who sighed now.
"Chan tell them. It was my mistake and they, especially Minji, need to know."
"You know how it goes Jeon. They saw them. There's only one way. You can't be thinking only about that, think about all of the scenarios."
Vanya and I only looked at each other.
"Minji. Vanya. The thing that happened today is we got attacked by certain people. We hoped they didn't see you but sadly they did."
I got more frustrated since Chan was beating around the bush.
"If you're not going to I'll have to. They're in now. No way back."
Jeongin leaned into his seat so did Chan.
"Fine. Listen, you two. There's a promise you'll have to make before leaving this place. We, others that left including me and Jeongin are in a group. Not mafia but something like that. It'll take days to explain everything however I'll try to shorten it."
I could only look at Vanya and search for her reaction.
"This group of ours is something like a hidden agent group. We work against bad people, mafias, drug dealers, etc. Although we are not hired by the country we are somewhat working for them. The business we do is not always for the good of people. Nevertheless, we stand out a lot and we are an inconvenience for everyone except the ones we do good."
Shifting my legs I tried to process what he was saying.
"Now that you know the behinds and the others noticed you, you'll have to make a promise."
"What promise?"
My throat was dry.
I understand why they kept this away from me but that way they only hurt me and themselves.
I felt betrayed.
So many secrets they kept while I told them each thing about me.
This could've ended differently.
"We need to put our symbol somewhere on your body. The people who get to know this business directly are only if they're in a different group and know about this all. When outsiders get to know this they need to have a connection to a certain group or they'll end up dead."
Jeongin was extremely quiet.
Something grew inside me.
Deep emotions got to me.
Why?
"That's it for today. Now, the symbol is a tattoo. Where do you want to have it?"
Even if I wanted to run out and get some air, I couldn't.
My head was killing me but I need to get over this.
"I'll go first. Here."
I knew where I would want to have it.
It may not be what I wanted at all, but it's not my choice and I better not stand up against it.
Chan stood up and I followed him into a room.
"I'm sorry. It's our fault it got this way. This is the only way we can keep you safe."
His sincere words left his mouth softly but I just stayed quiet.
"Let's get over with this."
