Ice cream

"It's just a small cut. No need to worry."
We were sitting on one of the benches in the park.
There were a few people here and there that had a picnic and some children were playing.
Still, it felt like we were the only ones there.
Hyunjin was seated towards me with concern written on his face.
"Let's draw Hyunjin."
He smiles a little grabbing his notebook and a pencil.
"Yeah."
I grab my notebook and a pencil and we start drawing in silence.
I decided to draw him again.
He had those character qualities that fit exactly for a manga, anime, or game.
In between, there wasn't much talking since we just relaxed listening to the park murmur and birds all around us.
I was just about to add more details to his face when my phone started ringing.
It was my mom.
I excuse myself and turn around.
-Hello?-
-Where are you?-
-I'm at the park. Why?-
-We're going to that shopping center and we won't come back until late. We're not leaving a key.-
-Wha--?-
Then she hangs up.
I sigh.
Who knows when they'll come back?
Hyunjin won't stay for long anyway.
"Is everything alright?"
He looks up at me.
The concern isn't washed out.
I didn't know what to tell him.
"It's just my mom... They went out and didn't leave me the key so I can't go back until they come home. It's not going to be soon for sure."
He continues drawing.
"You could...come to my place."
I look at him while thinking it through.
Is this a good option?
What if...
I don't have anything else to do tho.
"I'm not sure. I don't want to bother you."
"Of course, you don't bother me. Please, we could play games or draw, whatever you like."
"If you say so then."

"Tada!"
He said with a big smile while showing me the drawing.
He drew us, at the swings.
We looked like a couple tho.
It made me flutter.
I felt myself burning.
His eyes gazed over me under the blonde bangs.
"It's so pretty! Here's mine!"
I show him my drawing.
I drew him leaning on one rock while behind him was the beautiful ocean.
His eyes sparkled.
He traced his fingers across the drawing feeling every stroke I used.
"It's so good Minji! I want to have that in my apartment."
"I wanted to give you this anyway. Let's go eat some ice cream."
I wink marking the drawing with my signature and giving it to him while I pack my stuff.
"Thank you. Here's yours. I want you to keep it."
"I will. Don't worry."
As we walked to one of the ice cream shops he was really excited.
"You see, the favorite thing about the summer, for me is ice cream."
"Then you're lucky you found me. I'm a huge dairy lover."
The ice cream shop was really cute.
The building looked like a pale pink ball itself.
Inside, the walls are painted lilac with light blue straps here and there.
The chairs and tables are all made out of wood.
A lot of flowers were scattered throughout the whole shop.
Windows didn't have glass on them and were made out of wood too.
At each table were placed a few stuffed animals and the whole theme was cute even for the people who liked the different aesthetics.
A waitress came to take our orders.
I order cookies and cream while Hyunjin ordered caramel.
After a while of chatting and eating ice cream, I decided to ask him what Han told me to do so.
"What's your family name, I only know your name."
"It's Hwang and my American name is Sam."
You didn't know what to think or do.
Why would Han say that?
What's so wrong about him that Han doesn't want us to be close?
It's not jealousy obviously. It's something more.
I hide my surprise and smile at him.
"Mine's Kang. I don't have an American name tho."
"So if you're 19, you finished school this year. Are you going to college?"
"Yes. I'm not ready for it at all, yet it starts in three weeks."
"You have some ice cream here."
He points to his cheek and I immediately felt embarrassed.
I tried to wipe it but he took my wrist to stop me.
With his other hand, he slowly reached toward me.
His deep green eyes pierced my soul.
Our faces were just a few inches away from each other.
Our noses almost touched.
His thumb slowly moved right next to my lip.
Slowly moving back to his seat he licks his thumb not breaking our eye contact.
"Thanks."
I murmured it.
He winks at me with a small smile.
That's it.
I felt embarrassed and flustered.
Heat rose to my cheeks and I was sure that it was obvious to me right now.
"Wanna go to my apartment after we eat or do you want to go somewhere else before?"
I was glad he spoke up about something else.
"Yeah. I don't have anything to do anyway."

We were standing in the lobby of the building he was staying at.
The interior was wonderful.
It was based on golden things.
A lot of statues, mostly Greek mythology, were placed in the corners of the room.
Tall windows had long pure white curtains on their side.
The walls had white wallpapers with a gold sprinkle on them.
Tales were dirty white marble.
A beautiful chandelier was placed above your head. It was so big it brightened even the hallways that lead to the elevators.
When he took the key from the receptionist you followed him to his apartment.
His apartment was completely opposite the lobby.
It had navy blue walls, and oil paintings decorated it.
The furniture was a combination of white and navy blue.
His windows were tall with white curtains shielding them.
Carpets were dirty blonde beneath a black coffee table.
The kitchen and the rooms matched the theme.
"The whole building is amazing. I'm mesmerized."
