Kick

Memories, aren't they just pictures and movies repeating in our minds?
Feelings we made towards them are our choice.
We can choose to feel joy or sadness when we remember something from the past.
Also we can choose to forget or feel empty about them.
Whatever we choose, they're still memories, in the past.
People, places and stuff that are in the past can't be connected to us anymore.
Only if we allow them to.
Some things can impact our lives there's no doubt but again, only if we allow them to.
People can come back to our lives but we are the ones who choose what we'll do next.
Other people and stuff can't affect the way we'll react nor we can affect others opinions and actions.
The best thing to do is stay away from the ugly past and keep on moving in the present.

The girl in front of us had short brunette hair combined with pretty hazel eyes.
Hyunjin shifted closer to me but I continued to look back and froth between them.
"Laura, not even a 'hello'?"
Her strong gaze never left his eyes.
"Fine, hello Hyunjin. What a surprise to see you here."
Hyunjin nods before taking a quick glance at me.
"Laura, this is Minji. Minji, this is Laura. Do you need something?"
With a smirk building on his lips, he tilts his head.
Laura moves back with her hands crossed now.
"I need to know why's she here. In my seat."
Hyunjin's scoff turned into a muffled laugh.
"Hahaha Lauraa. Please, can you leave? You're trying to say that it's my fault when it was you who did that. Don't force me to call the guards."
She is clearly nervous now but Hyunjin just leaned forward in his seat with a smirk plastered on his face.
"What is it now? You're not so confident anymore."
The teacher walked in so she left without another word.

Fixing my hair into a ponytail I stood in the lobby waiting for Hyunjin.
The classes today went by quickly without much things to do except getting to know the subjects and each other.
One thing I hate is getting to know each other in school.
It's so awkward.
I can say my class is pretty casual, at least for now.
That girl bothered me for some time, she gave me ugly death stares but I did my best to ignore her.
I wonder what does she want from Hyunjin.
Just as I though about him he appeared in black sweatpants and black sleeves shirt.
His biceps bulged as he makes a small ponytail with his blonde hair.
"Hey! You ready?"
Hyunjin's pitched soft voice echoed through the hallways.
"Yeah."

We walked to a small vintage building 5 minutes away from our university.
It seemed well kept while the aesthetics stuck out in the modern street.
In there are a lot of training rooms but Hyunjin wanted to practice self defense and knife fight.
As a child, Han, Jeongin and I would sometimes play with it but it was not professional.
It made me excited.
The practice room is full with equipment and has different section but we first went to a section that had a punching bag and a lot of space around it.
"Leave your stuff on the bench. We will firstly stretch."

With stretching finished we started doing the basics of self defence and fighting like positions if the hand and legs, and power, special places to hit etc.
"Bring your left leg in front and get in the stance. Make a step or two and then punch me with your right arm with a swing. The other one should be ready to protect you."
After giving a few examples I tried my best to copy it.
It went good until I couldn't do a roundhouse kick correctly.
"It seems good but it's not. Do it again so I can see what's wrong."
Doing it again Hyunjin nods.
"Your foot. It should be placed outwards and not in 45°."
While trying to do it he came and placed my foot correctly.
"Try to do it like this."
After I did it he giggled and gave me a small applause.

After a while of the martial arts we did a few basics with knives.
I am currently observing him as he explains how to throw a knife and gives me aiming tips.
As I proceeded to do it the knife just hit the board and fell down.
"Let me help."
Hyunjin came behind me slowly tracing his hand over mine placing the knife slightly different.
His other hand laid comfortably on my hip while his face is an inch away from mine.
The warm breath of his tickled my ear and butterflies happly played in my stomach.
I tried my best not to look at his hands and how gorgeous they are.
"Use a lot of power, but it has to be done quickly."
With a help of his the knife was stuck close to the center of the board which made me chuckle.
"I'm the best, am I?"
Hyunjin only scoffed at my words grabbing a few more knives.
"Don't get so fed up about it."
I could notice some pink tint on his cheeks and ears. Is he embarrassed?
As Hyunjin continued I could only admire him.
Though I can't do that for long.
The need for exercise broke away my view focusing only at the board, which had a man on it, in front of me.
