The view
A long reminder of the past are our scars.
Some are visible some aren't.
The invisible ones are easily put away, not noticed by other people, and can even be forgotten but in most cases they hurt the most.
Visible ones, hurt a lot too, they're just noticed easily and whenever they're seen, they become a constant reminder.
Which ones are the worst?
Hyunjin and I were about to seperate our ways but when he turned around something kept my eyes on him.
It was a line on his neck.
I haven't noticed before but I had an urge to ask him about it.
And when the words left my mouth, guilt only built up.
"Hyunjin, can I ask what's that on your neck? I'm sorry it just caught my eyes."
He turned around with an unreadable gaze thrown at me.
Taking a few steps towards me he touches his neck and answers.
"This? It's a scar. From a battle."
Nodding I look down thinking why I even asked him about it.
"But that's the only one which you can see above the shirt."
My heart drops to my feet as my stomach does a flip.
"There's more?"
Hyunjin closes his eyes at my sentence.
"Come with me."
Hyunjin brought me to his room and gestured me to sit on the chair.
"Since you're in SKZ now, I guess I can tell you a bit."
Turning his back to me he takes off his shirt.
My mouth hangs open.
His back is full of scar lines, some bigger and some smaller.
The musles of his back stood out but not much against those.
Only a few places had gaps without the scars.
He goes for his closet taking a new shirt and sweatpants.
"I should take a shower, you should do the same. I can tell you about it later, just come here."
Nodding I left saying bye as my mind is filled with thoughts of how much did he suffer.
Fresh in new clothes and my hair in a bun I felt relaxed.
Walking to Hyunjin's dorm again I realised I haven't seen Han and Jeongin much today.
The door of Hyunjin's dorm was open so I just came in to find him laying on his bed scrolling on his phone.
"Oh you're here."
Chuckling I close the door.
"You left your door open slightly so I just went in."
He nods sitting up.
Scratching his back his gaze never left mine.
"So I showed you the scars on my back. They're ugly, aren't they?"
My heart felt heavy.
"Hyunjin. They are a part of your past. You don't have to be ashamed of it. They represent how strong you are."
Hyunjin just played with the bedsheets.
"I got them when I was kept by another gang because I saved Chan, Han and Jeongin. At least they were okay. Han and I weren't at good terms then but afterward we became friends."
Chills went through my body feeling sorry for he man in front of me.
Maybe that's why Jeongin wrote that in his diary.
"I'm speechless. I can only say sorry. Also, I shouldn't have brought that topic up at all."
"No need. I wanted you to know. That was a hard time for us. SKZ almost disappeared and all of us could've ended up dead."
Covering my mouth he hung his head low.
"Luckily, Felix and Kazuha made a plan to free me and to defeat that gang, with that we got our title."
Somehow this eased up the tensions in the air.
They're strong people.
I might not be suited for this at all.
I don't belong in this.
I'm weak.
Processing all of the information and battling with my mind I didn't notice Hyunjin at my side.
He took my arms in his and looked straight into my eyes.
"I think I know what you're thinking. If you wonder that you're not strong or ready for this, none of us were. We'll help you."
The gaze of his is soft, his green eyes are filled with empathy and care.
"Thank you. Also, Hyunjin, whenever you are struggling I am free to talk to."
The way his lips formed a smile is going to stay in my mind for a while.
My lips copied the smile as he goes back go sit on his bed.
We talked more and more until we reached the peak of the night, midnight.
We had to observe the moon that lightened the whole schoolyard.
Moon rays were bright painting each corner into white or light blue colors.
Stars on the sky weren't that visible but if you focused enough you could see a sea of them behind the full moon.
We turned off the light in his room so we could see better.
My eyes looked out for the details in the view as the soft summer breeze brushed my hair.
Soon enough I was caught in the view next to me.
Hyunjin looked mesmerising.
Crowned with blonde hair that absorbed the moon's rays, the locks laid sowtly above his shoulders.
His green eyes shined and moved over the each star on the sky tonight while the lashes around them laid perfectly.
Hyunjin's pure face held a soft texture with one beauty mark underneath his eye.
Plump lips of his made a small pout.
He's so pretty.
The sentence went on and on in my head.
"I like the view right now."
My lips formed the sentence without knowing.
