Emerald

"Come on Jeongin! Jump!"
Clean water splashed Han and me as Jeongin jumped from the rock into the emerald lake.
Laughter echoed through the trees.
It was a hot Sunday, perfect for a fresh swim in a lake.
The lake was clean, surrounded by all kinds of dark green trees and a few rocks here and there.
A small beach had a few benches in the corner.
This lake was hidden from the outside world and is only known by a small number of people.
It was kept a secret so the emerald lake won't be touched by an outsider's hand.
I get on the beach resting my limbs on the soft sand.
Only if I could live in peace next to those two.
I was grabbed by my ankles and dragged to the lake just after a second of relaxing.
"Han!!"
I took a deep breath.
The water swallowed me while Han dragged me through the lake.
I needed to laugh but I couldn't from the pressure.
Han was tickling my feet which made me kick him but in the right/wrong place.
Immediately I was let go of.
I made my way to the surface before hearing Han squealing from the pain.
"Gosh Minji."
I laughed swimming towards the shore.
"C'mon Han, it's your fault."

"Can I have some?"
Jeongin asks for some cookies which I gladly share with him.
Han was still in the water.
"What did your mom say? About the plan?"
Jeongin was munching the cookies with his eyes closed while his wet black locks were glued to his forehead.
"She agreed immediately. Though she's worried about you. She said that she'll do everything to keep them away from you if they try to do something."
That just made my heart flutter violently.
What did I do to deserve this?
Only if she could.
What can seriously stop my mother?
"Thank you."
He pats my head continuing to eat the chocolate cookies.
"Should we start making the sandwiches?"
Han approached with his upper-built body and brown hair drenched in water.
This is a special occasion to see them without a t-shirt, I should be grateful.
His abs appealed to my eyes.
With each move, his muscles stretched and flexed.
It was a painting to my eyes.
"Yeah. Let's grill the meat first, there's not much. We'll finish it fast."
I started preparing the ingredients while they prepared the fire.
I could only stare at their revealed bodies.

It was already sunset.
Nice days always pass away quickly.
I was taking pictures of the sunset as they gathered the stuff and cleaned up.
Suddenly I felt strong warm hands invite me in for a hug.
The rings on the hand showed me that it was Han.
"How did you like the day?"
His chin was placed on my right shoulder.
I look at him from the corner of my eye.
"Thank you for this day. I've never been happier."
We were inches away but both of us were comfortable.
The sun was already down. The forest around us was getting darker.
The rocks shined compared to the darkness around it.
"You didn't tell me why you said that about Hyunjin."
His muscles tensed but did not let me go.
"Look. I know him. He's a guy you should avoid. He's scary and does bad things"
Han felt distant for a second.
"If you say so..."
"What's the lovey-dovey touch without me?"
Another pair of strong arms embraced us and it was a lovely group hug.
I couldn't fight the giggle.

"Yo, let's get some donuts. I've been craving them."
Jeongin's hair bounced on his head while he squealed for the donuts.
Han had to pull over to the donut shop.
"Your wish, my command."
Jeongin happily bounced over to the shop while we slowly dragged our tired limbs.
"Can you get me an Oreo one? I don't feel like going in."
I seriously didn't want to encounter people today.
I was tired from everything but this day was a total battery charger.
Han went in while I observed the town around me.
Yellow and light blue still played in the sky as a few stars showed themselves.
Tonight I'm sleeping over at Jeongin's.
I'm so glad that I won't have to see my family at all today.
Everything is going the way it should and I don't want them to ruin any of it.
I know they're out somewhere spending their time like a normal family.
Sadly, I never got to experience that.
Maybe it's better.
There are only two more days with them.
I just hope I won't have to go to Busan with a bruise somewhere on my body.
Yumi won't be here this week.
She's at her friend's yacht. They're having a week-long party.
Thank God.
That only leaves my dad, mom, and Jaeseong.
Jaeseong will act normal with me now that Yumi is not here.
Even tho I don't have good memories of him, he has a special place in my heart because of the good deeds he did when no one watched.
After all, big brothers always have a special place in a sister's heart.
There were times when I saw hurt, guilt, sadness, and regret in Jaeseong's eyes.
Indeed, he was forced to beat me.
Before, as a small girl, I searched for male affection, which was only provided by Jaeseong in secret.
Dad, I never speak with him because my mom tires him out and he only knows how to shout at me.
I don't know how many times he beat me just because my mom thought I did something that Yumi filled their head with.
I fix my hair into a tighter ponytail only to hear something I prayed not to.
"I found you."
